1940 called. It wants its ethnic slurs back.

I don’t think that was 1940.

The Krauts rolled through most of Europe less than 100 years ago. We can call them what we want.

Now do the Japanese

That was a crazy ending!

I would pick Italy over even a full strength Belgium; but Belgium will likely be without Kevin De Bruyne and Eden Hazard in their quarterfinal against Italy.

Assuming Spain get past Switzerland, the Italy/Spain semifinal should be entertaining. But I pick Italy to win that, too.

The other side of the bracket is much weaker.

This is the first strong team Italy has faced. Hope De Bruyne is fully fit so we get an enjoyable match.

I don’t find Italy enjoyable to watch at all. The diving and histrionics are just on a whole other level.

You haven't been watching Copa America then.

Soccer isn’t for you if you don’t enjoy watching the way this Italian team plays. Go watch baseball.

Big difference when Cheillini plays compared to last game when he didn't. General in the back who allows the front to do what they do. Juventus keeps him there for a reason.

Yes! More own goals in this tournament so far than in all other past European Championships combined. But that Spanish own goal definitely stands out.

Did you see the Slovakia GK own goal? I think not. Otherwise you wouldn’t be making such smart statements.

Big possibility that "Football is Coming Home" if England carry on this way. I'm generally pessimistic about England's chances in major tournaments after years of EPL overhype and let downs, but Gareth Southgate has now demonstrated that he can guide England into the last four of the 2018 World Cup, the UEFA Nations League and now the Euros. And he's already conquered the jinx of penalties (against Colombia in 2018) as well as exorcising the ghosts of Germany (Euro'96) but Denmark are a team with a purpose. Actually, given Denmark's victory in 1992 (when the Euros had only 8 teams), historically speaking perhaps Denmark are the "on paper" favorites. But given no goals conceded by England and the familiarity by the English squad with many of the Danish players plying their trade in the EPL, it should be somewhat cagey. However home advantage may swing in England's favor. I still get chills hearing the fans sing "it's coming home, it's coming home, it's coming, football's coming home!"

No thanks. I’ll watch and cheer for Spain instead.

The game is at home but that’s it

Southgate has been beaten tactically by DK last few games
No reason to expect change

Forza Italia! Not as entertaining as some of the other games we've seen this tournament, but we've been spoiled.

Yeah - I’m one of the pro-Italy PPs - they slopped their way through this one, especially extra time. Not close to the technical display that they’ve put on through the tournament. Their offensive level drops significantly when they go to the bench. Spain clearly had the upper-hand in Extra Time and should’ve been pushing harder to end the game without the need for PKs.
