I like it, it’s cute.

But can someone explain to me hope it came to be a nickname for Margaret???

I know a 60 year old Daisy and was surprised when I met her in person because I expected her to be a young, slightly immature 22 year old. She's wonderful and I enjoy working with her, but I'm just warning you that such misconceptions may occur.

It’s just so cheesy. Daisy Daisy give me your answer do, I’m half crazy all for the loooove of yuuu. Kind of like Rosie the riveter. As for the reach it’s short for Margaret. Yeah. Really a reach into another language.

I don't get the Rosie the Riveter reference, but yes, it's cheesy. It's a ditzy cutie pie name that's perfect for a puppy, but I wouldn't give it to a human. That said, I also hate Margaret so not sure I'd do that either. Seems like there should be some alternatives that hit the Daisy note without a dumb connotation.

Anyway, this has been my choice for a second daughter for years. It's looking less and less like it will happen, so I hope you use it because the world could use a Daisy.

Some similar names I also love: June, Joy, Lila, Poppy, Penny

SO completely agree.

Why can't you just give her Margaret (so that she can drop the stupid dog's name when she's older and wants to sound professional?).

Daisy on a grown woman sounds vapid and infantile, the name of a empty-headed child-woman. Which is probably why F. Scott Fitzgerald chose it for the horrible Daisy Buchanan.

It's really bad as a full name, OP.

"Really hate" -- wow you're really taking this personally, pp!
