You all clearly did not watch the debate and just enjoy troll posting. She has a kid in MPSA and another that went to drew who will return in the fall. She has a kid in private and has been fighting for more days in school for all kids. This is not an Alexandria superintendent issue where he withdrew his kid and continues to keep other kids out. |
I watched the debate. I thought she did a pretty sh!tty job in the debate, especially compared to Mary's cogent and knowledgeable answers on a range of topics. |
+ 1. Miranda is a Johnny come lately. She even admitted she hadn't heard of an issue until she did debate prep and watched a debate from the last race. It's also clear that she has no ideas for anything after schools reopen. Schools are open now and will be fulltime in the fall, BEFORE the new member takes office. I want someone who can thing beyond that. |
I looked at her website and there is nothing about any other issues. |
I watched and thought she did well. From MK all I heard was edu-babble. A vote for MK would be 1000% more of the same. |
Yeah. Tired of the reading the comments from the same 3 AEM posters. |
Oops. |
+1 “Forced”? WTH? |
Just curious how it could be about property values. We’re talking about a school that, with neighborhood boundaries, will serve very few students who qualify for fr/l. Moving from one GS 9/10 to another GS 9/10 has no effect on property values. If anything, a home zoned for the newly built school would be more valuable, I would think. |
Clearly what we need on the SB is an angry lawyer who was “forced” to withdraw her child to private school because APS didn’t meet her expectations during an unprecedented global crisis. ![]() Mary was a teacher, but that’s probably a knock against her from all the teacher-haters who think highly qualified educators speak in “edu-babble.” |
1000x this |
Which ones are for full reopening and which ones are union lackies? |
What issue? |
I just watched the opening statements and the first question, but I thought both did well.
I'm voting for Miranda because I think she's right that return-to-school and COVID response is *the* issue of the day, and I concur that APS has failed wildly here. But Mary seems fully competent to me. She just seems more establishment, and I am looking for more change. But either way, I am happy to have either of these two on the board. |
Lolz. |
