I can understand sending out an alarm if they had any proof this was happening, but given that voting won’t even start for another week...seems very underhanded to make a totally fabricated accusation like that. I wasn’t really paying that much attention to the race before this, but I am definitely going to vote for the other candidate now.

People are over-reacting. She isn't accusing her opponent of anything. She's making a pledge and stating that she hopes the other campaign will pledge likewise. Nothing unusual in that.

I'm not a MT supporter, but why should MT pledge to do anything of this sort? This controversy was born from MK's campaign's mind.

Right? Smacks of manipulation. Dirty campaigns are dirty campaigns.

Just so we're on the same page, we are talking about a local school board election, right?

I dunno. The angry APE dad bros have been knocking over Kadera lawn signs...

Are you blaming APE for, ummmm, wind?

Funny how "the wind" didn't knock over a single APE/MT/CC/TK sign nearby. ONLY the MK signs....

Ha! Actually no. I am a hardcore MT supporter and have gone out SEVERAL times over the past two weeks to PICK UP HER SIGNS THAT GOT KNOCKED DOWN AND REPLANT THEM. I don't do the same for MK b/c she isn't my candidate. HER OWN SUPPORTERS CAN DO THE SAME I AM DOING. So whatever. You come up with your own theories but they are disconnected from reality.

Welcome back, TT

Nope. Your assumptions are wildly inaccurate. I'd tell you who I am on FB but you've blocked me!

You're assuming you know who I am. I haven't blocked anyone. Nice try, TT.

Okay so I guessed and was wrong. And will admit it. But again, I'm not TT. Will you admit you're wrong?

She doesn't have to but her silence speaks volumes.

The only reason not to make this pledge is if she plans to harvest votes.

Harvesting votes was never going to be an issue until MK (and lawyer lady on AEM) made it one. If I was MT, I'd just put out a statement saying that the other side is playing dirty, manipulative tricks to attempt to make her look bad. And MT doesn't have to play that game.

Why hasn't Miranda made this same pledge?

The fact that she has not makes it look like she's going to harvest votes.

So the plan is to invent a problem and then accuse the other candidate of not caring about the invented problem? This is the perfect time to just cancel the damn caucus. Short of that you are not helping Kaderas campaign.

This is ridiculous. Is our election system so broken that "harvesting votes" can happen? Put the blame on Arl Dems if that's the case, not MT.

But is it an invented problem? Doubt the MK campaign would have put this out if they didn't have some info on it (not associated with the campaign).

and...you have done the research on this? You have interviewed other people who are involved in the planning, logistics, and operations of a brand new (to Arlington) online voting process and have eliminated all sources of this idea other than MK? You seem awfully sure of yourself - I wonder why.

The only research that can be done on this to date is 1.) MK's email and 2.) Lawyer Lady post on AEM.

Summary: "BECAUSE I SAY SO, IT MUST BE HAPPENING!"

If there is any other verifiable evidence that either side was planning on "harvesting votes," please present them below. Otherwise, it's a made up issue concocted to make APE/MT look terrible.

I want to voter for MK, but every supporter in AEM and here is making me lose faith in her and her judgement.

BS. You clearly are an MT supporter trying to deflect from how bad this makes MT look.

Seriously, why doesn't MT just shut this down and make the same commitment? It's not a good look for her to not do this... I want to give her the benefit of the doubt but this makes me think MTi is planning to do this.

I read in AEM that a MK supporter wants MK to do this too.

Most people don't like being bothered while going about their regularly scheduled life. Trying to accost someone to "vote" while they are commuting/running errands/doing most anything else isn't going to go down well, like, at all.

If you are so bothered by the integrity of our election system, you need to take it up with Arl Dems.

Also, I had a MK yard sign up. I just took it down. Truth be told, I don't support MT either. I said way upthread that all of this goofiness will probably make me sit out the primaries and vote independent/write in in November.

Or Miranda had people that went out and, gasp, fixed the signs. (I personally
fixed some of both as I was walking by - just thought it was the nice thing to do)
