Brookeville bypass wasn't needed

Ok, I drive thru there and am tired of the flooding every time it rains, so I think it was needed.

Then re-grade the road with a higher bridge, don't waste money on something that will be lightly traveled.

The fact that you think this road is "lightly traveled" tells me you don't regularly drive through there.

Exactly. It is literally Georgia Avenue.

Is it done? Haven’t been in a while but I never liked that area either, that one intersection always struck me as pretty dangerous.

SHA says that it is 72% complete with the goal to be done by end of 2022.

What is with you and interchanges? I've seen your posts in threads about them and is this like an interest of yours or what?

It’s a silly troll that hates roads for cars and thinks they are being clever by asking for more interchanges everywhere. Not sure why the interchange fetish specifically though.

Because that isn't the point. The locals do not need more access. The entire point of the route is to provide a bypass around the one stop sign town of Brookeville. Right now, you have a lot of traffic, which is about 98% pass-through traffic that are going through this tiny community and they have to stop and make a 90 degree turn. The road is narrow there and it endangers the community members and pets and is a time wasting delay for the many people traveling through there.

So the bypass is going to give a faster route around the little community, provide safety for the locals by not having pass-through traffic speeding through their neighborhood and allow the pass through traffic to go around without having to stop and make a partially obstructed turn. This will be good for everyone who uses Georgia Ave for commuting and for the Brookeville residents. The Brookeville residents can enter at either endpoint of the bypass, on the existing roads which go from high volume pass-through to low volume local traffic only.

This really wasn't needed and the money could have been better spent on other projects in the State.

In your opinion. Many people disagreed. For the thousands of commuters on Georgia Ave, they thought otherwise, so when the residents of Brookeville asked, the commuters agreed that it would be a good idea.

Note, I only drive through the area like once or twice a year, and even I know that will be worthwhile, especially during the morning and evening rush hours.

You obviously do not live in the area. It is needed and has been in the approved plan for two decades
