Darling. You are embarrassing yourself. The right wing invented cancel culture. |
DP. I read it and agreed completely. Thank you to that poster for an articulate, spot-on post. This idiotic thread was crying out for one. |
That may or may not be the case. However, you cannot deny the out of control nature the left is responsible for now, without question. |
This thread full of examples to the opposite proves you wrong. |
True equity in taxation would be a flat tax rate across the board regardless of income level. Whether you earn $50k or $50m, you both pay the same 15% That’s equity. -an actual conservative |
If only everyone started out in life at equal levels. |
If everyone is paying the same percentage as a tax, what does one have to do with the other? The goal of taxation is to raise money the government needs to pay for things. Period. It is not to take money from some people and give it to others. That’s called “theft”. If you can’t understand that, then you are unequipped to be in this discussion. |
+100 Once again, Democrats confuse equality with “equity.” |
Pffft. Racists and criminals are getting called out as should happen. Right wingers are "creating" some of this other mess. No one is cancelling Seuss but look at what posts here keep getting hit at the top of the recent posts lists. All of the right wing oriented posts are at the top about silly crap. The posts about what happened wrt Trump's attempted coup and other criminal acts keep getting passed over by the Drumpsters in favor of their fake issues. x |

I can absolutely deny it. What do you think is so egregious about canceling racism and sexism? Why is it so important to you that racist and sexist sentiments be preserved or celebrated? Why is your impulse to protect predators? |
No, that would be “parity.” What is equal and what is fair are two different things. Equal is not always fair. Didn’t you learn that in preschool? The income tax has many flaws. But progressivity in rates is not one of them because one underlying principle is ability to pay. |

Nothing in the tax code takes from one and “gives” to another. That very false premise right underscores the complete mental deficiency in the way conservatives think. They are always so worried about what others “get” and fear it is something is taken away from them as a result. Ironically many of them identify as Christian. I was raised Christian and was taught you only look in someone else’s bowl to be sure they have enough, not because you fear they have too much. |
