True equity in taxation would be a flat tax rate across the board regardless of income level. Whether you earn $50k or $50m, you both pay the same 15%

The goal of taxation is to raise money the government needs to pay for things. Period. It is not to take money from some people and give it to others. That’s called “theft”.

Nothing in the tax code takes from one and “gives” to another. That very false premise right underscores the complete mental deficiency in the way conservatives think. They are always so worried about what others “get” and fear it is something is taken away from them as a result. Ironically many of them identify as Christian. I was raised Christian and was taught you only look in someone else’s bowl to be sure they have enough, not because you fear they have too much.[/quote]
