I think it's more of a joke against the organization rather than the people who pay to be in it.

Agree. The Metro 08s lost to FCV 3-0 yesterday in a GA makeup game. 3-0 isn't actually that bad.

Not that FCV coaching is that great anymore, but that is bad. Metro actually has some decent soccer players in the 2008 group. Coaching at Metro is dreadful.

Metro 2008 has multiple 2009 players on the team. And there are a few 2008 playing on 2007. If everyone returned to their age I think trams may perform better. However, those kids playing up may leave the club. So here we sit

That's true of many other clubs/teams. FCV 07 has 2 08s that I know of; Arlington has at least 1; Bethesda has at least 1; many of the better CCL teams also have 08s on the 07 team. It would be a different landscape if everyone played their age group.

The difference is the 2008’s playing on Metro 2007 team would not be playing on any other 2007 ECNL or GA team. If they leave metro they would be forced to play 2008. Same with all the other metro play ups.

There are no playups on the 07 team.

Yes there is. You may not know because it's been 2 years

How many 08’s are playing up on 07?

Why do parents go to Metro again? You can stay at Great Falls in NPL or Potomac and do EDP than go to GA and lose every game. Stop chasing the badge people if your kids were good you would have them try out at Mclean right down the street or FCV.

Lmao parents/players but mostly parents get conned and duped into Loudoun precisely for that. ECNL patch. Nothing more nothing less.

There’s NO philosophy except backstabbing and politicks. The culture is basically non existent. Zero connection between teams even in the same age group.

Coaching is shyt. And it’ll get worse with the 30% salary reduction they’re doing. Yet the same 5 folks increase their income lol despite the 250k from capelli + almost 600k from PPP loans they will NOT have to pay back + that Spring 2020 theft.

Has anyone noticed none of their lauded ECNL teams are in any of the first brackets at Jeff cup?? Hmmm why could that be I wonder!

I hate Loudoun as much as you do but their 07 ECNL team did win (1-0) the top bracket at Jeff Cup against FCV's GA team. I wouldn't be surprised if none of their other ECNL teams were in their top bracket, though. Outside of 2007, their ECNL teams are not strong.

Totally agree on the playups being a problem at Metro. Nothing is more discouraging to a player, especially girls, than to see a marginal play up who can hardly compete at the level they are being asked to play starting ahead of a solid player at the appropriate age level.

This has been the culture at Metro since the beginning, favoritism of a few players and playing them up as a reward to the parents. It's also what has driven many good players away from the club, and it doesn't appear that will change anytime soon.

There aren’t play ups on the 07 team. There a few play ups on the 08 team. I’m not chasing a badge. my dd plays with players that are close to her level, which is why we go. We also like the coaches. Every one makes their own decisions, so please have respect for mine.

Makes no difference to me if you donate your money to Metro but public should be informed about these clubs pros and cons. New try outs should be advise to look elsewhere if your looking for a good club that will

A) challenge your daughter with having high level talent around her.

B) have acess to good coaches

C) have repution of success.

Like it or not winning does show some form of success, others will argue that clubs just pick the most athletic kid but isn't it possible the coaches/philosophy did work and somehow made a good team?

I think you have posters confused here. Playups have been an issue club wide with Metro. As a 2007 parent, are you claiming that no 2007s have played up with the 2006s? How about the older groups? Any playups there? Those who have been with the club for several years know the answer to all of those questions. Yes.

This is not disrespectful to your choice, it’s just reality.

Loudoun losing ECNL would basically render that club to extinction. Will it happen? Nobody knows. What everybody knows is that club is a cesspool.
But remember to repthered while they repthegreen
