When guys date younger women in your experience are they really dating their maturity age?

Why is a 60yo man on a mommy parenting board??!?

I'm not the PP but I'm here in part because this is the board that encouraged my ex-wife to get divorced and play dirty in the divorce. Now she's fat and alone, and I'm banging 25 year olds.

+1. Most well adjusted 20 something year olds will not date someone in their 30’s, let alone 40’s or older. I did know two girls in college who dated a couple of guys in their early 30’s and I remember our whole friend group was disgusted, sat them down and told them it wasn’t right and they need to stop. These girls had daddy issues and one was mentally unstable in general. These older guys have problems and target young women with issues bc no normal young person would date more than 10 yrs older.

Unless you're hugh Hefner the only 25 yr old in the dmv who would date q 60 yr old for cash would be someone who looked like this and thats being generous.

I’m 45 and won’t date over 50- then again I have my own money. I’m fine w men being used for their money while they use young women for their egos- but lets not pretend it’s anything other than transactional

If a successful man wants children or more children after previous relationship, they have to be mindful of fertility. After 35 most women are nearly barren, so they prefer younger more fertile women.

Yes I’m sure the 60 year old is hoping to procreate with his 25YO partner. Definitely

These are divorced men who have had their families and now like to date young women. Presumably they’ve all had vasectomies. I see how your real point was to insult women over 35 as being “barren”, but I think you’re on the wrong track.

I have a relative who didn't get married until he was 62. He is now mid-70s with a 13 and 11 year old. I have a male friend who is mid-70s raising his teenaged stepson.

The transactional set up is the norm, and what it suggests about our culture is disturbing.

I have no doubt people in those relationships feel the euphoria of love - patriarchy does that to people. Still gross.

It's usually a transnational pairing at any age.

When there isn't the age gap there is "sorting" but people pair up based on potential and values. The "transaction" element is not as overt as it is when rich yacht owner takes on an unemployed hottie from Tinder. Sorry not the same thing. And it's so interesting that so many responses here are basically clueless and believe patriarchy is purely biologically determined. Read some books.

Totally an anomaly.

Who are these 20 year olds who are dating these old men? No one I know now or when I was in my 20's is dating these much older men. Just couldn't relate to them culturally.

You recognize that both are outliers? If I was 11 with a 75 year old father I’d hate it. My dad just turned 70 and he’s a grandfather to my kids (14-10)

+100. So irresponsible to have a young kid at that age. I'd hate it to have a dad that age at school functions/games etc.

You're projecting. 25 y/o and 60 y/o is so rare it's not even worth discussing. I was more-so referring to late 20s gal with a 30s/40s successful man. Outside of a sap like Prince Harry, most men that age who want [more] children are not going to waste time with a fertility-challenged woman their own age. A famous example would be Chris Pratt (39) divorcing and then marrying Katherine Schwarzenegger (28), then immediately having a child.

He was cheating on Anna Farris who is way prettier and funnier than Katherine S. Anna F. broke it off.
