| Glad I read this thread. I also found the email in my junk folder! |
| In calculating the GPA, do you know whether they included physical education or music (each was a semester long course)? If they were included, do you know if they were weighted to reflect that they were not the entire year. Thank you. |
| We haven't heard anything yet. Are there others still waiting to hear? |
| I think all classes were included in calculation. |
I think all of the notifications went out. Did you check your spam folder? |
| I know a kid whose GPA was 3.56 and got an interview... |
Was that the GPA for just seventh grade or including sixth? Or is this kid applying to a different grade besides 9th? That GPA is too low for the ninth grade cut off, but they only look at seventh grade. |
Yes, nothing. But we are not at DCPS. Did any charter families hear yet? |
We are not in DCPS or DCPCS and we heard. Weird that you didn’t hear - one way or the other. |
Is there any public information what the cutoff was? Any way to find out where your kid was on the list? |
I am sure if you ask they will tell you the cutoff. I also think 3.56 is too low to get an interview, but I also don’t totally trust that kids are referring to their overall GPA (which would include all middle school grades) versus just their seventh grade GPAs. The latter is what Walls is using to determine whether they get an interview. |
| My kid has a 3.5 GPA and got an interview. I think the 500 is balanced by ward. |
| There is definitely some ward weighting. I know a 3.6 kid from SH who did not get an interview and a kid with a 3.5 from a Ward 7 charter school who did. |
| Dumb question because now I am curious: is the GPA calculated using all grades from all four quarters of 7th grade, or just the final grade for each course? Thanks. |
Same. Doesn't reflect well on the the school, TBH. |
