An idiot who gets her car stolen because she left it running and unlock is not a city out of control.

You are a victim blamer. A woman is raped it is her fault for being provocative or smart. Yup...you are in touch.

Stop with the rape analogy, it doesn't have anything to do with her actions. You are the one out of touch.

You are blaming the victim of a crime for the perpetration of a crime instead of holding the perpetrator responsible. The rape analogy is harsh, maybe you would prefer to blame a seatbelt shirker for being in the way of a drunk driver.

Good gawd, you are comparing violent crimes, involving personal injury to a person, to a property crime. She was stupid and it's her fault her car was jacked, you'll never convince me otherwise.

Bingo! That is what the poster further up was saying smarty! DC does not count property crimes as real crimes. Especially because your insurance should cover the damages. Therefor, not an issue and not really crime for our fair city.

Except car jackings are up over 100%. The problem is so bad the FBI now has to deal with the problem in DC.

Whooptie doo. The feds are pretty intrusive in many other areas of city life, too.

This isn’t car jacking. Car jacking is when someone takes your car with force or threat of violence. This is like when you leave your cell phone on a park bench and someone takes it, or leave your bike unlocked on the sidewalk outside CVS and someone takes it ...yes, it’s theft but you’re still an idiot and I feel bad the cops have to waste their time on that instead of crimes that were harder to avoid.

Car jacking and car theft are up, and obviously related crimes.

I agree. I'm really upset this is being framed as "DC is out of control" instead of "local idiot gets car stolen because she was too lazy to turn off her car and lock it." It's pretty difficult for an average person to get MPD to help them in a timely fashion in the first place, so you know they were falling over themselves to help the Scooter Lady.

Wow. Your Mad Max vision of how society should work is truly disturbing. Glad most of us believe in civil behavior.

Wait a minute. You mean to tell me a young black stole Cheh’s car? Now I’ve heard everything 😂😂😂

She lured a young man into stealing her car. Perhaps our most storied Mayor's immortal line "B set me up!" will be used in the defense?

Yes I said "jacked" earlier as a PP, when I should have gone into more detail. How about dumb lady leaves car running unattended on major DC street and some poor person, obviously disenchanted because of Trumps and MPD's policies stole it. Is that better?

Stop victim blaming, idiot. In a normal civilized society, it shouldn't matter if someone leaves their keys in the car. Hell, you should be able to go take a piss at a cafe and leave your money, computer, and cell phone on the table and not worry about it being stolen. As usual, the victim is to blame, not the actual assholes committing crime. No wonder DC is turning into a shit hole with exploding rates of crime across the board. So many idiots in DC blame the victim, then want to give every dumb excuse to let the criminals off the hook with a slap on the wrist.

To the victim blamers. Where does your logic end. If my house gets broken into and things stolen, does a window being left open make this an "invitation" and a non crime? Just call home insurance and be done with it.

What about if they just come into my back yard and steal my dog for a PG County dog fighting ring. Again...victimless I suppose. I should have had a taller gate with a better lock and a dog who could defend themselves.

Porch Pirating...my fault for ordering too much 'S'.

Stealing the Amazon truck...my fault for ordering too much 'S'.

She's stupid. Couldn't have happened to a more deserving person!
