| I read on one news source that it was stolen from Flagship auto - which means Mary was breaking the rules! There are signs all over the carwash saying please do not run other errands while you are getting your car wash. They specifically list Bread Furst and Zips. I used to routinely pop into Bread Furst while getting my carwashed but the signs made me stop. So, the keys were in it because the crew had finished cleaning it and it was waiting for her. Too funny. |

There have been 3,119 car thefts in Washington, D.C., so far this year, up from 2,098 during the same time period in 2019, according to Fox 5 DC.
The station reports that carjackings are also up 141 percent, as there have been 328 so far this year compared to just 136 in 2019. "They travel the city and use these vehicles to commit other criminal acts," D.C. Police Patrol Chief Lamar Greene told Fox 5 DC. |

No this isn’t what happened based on the video. As you know, the finished cars are picked up behind the car wash. This car was taken in front. Unless Mary gets special treatment from the car wash and they bring it to the front for her. |

Folks cruising the city in stolen cars, boosting other stolen cars. City disbanded the auto crime unit years ago, barely pull video (this happened to be in front of a business that supplied it), little/no detective work for "property crime". You know how they solve these? They wait for the abandoned car to accrue tickets, which the owner will receive, who will THEN have to go to contest. 3,000 car thefts in this year in a city this small is no joke. It affects real people who may have already fragile support systems for income, work or family care. It's criminal, and it's selfish. |
