She keeps escalating and doubling down to take advantage of people’s good nature. Of course no one is going to confront someone about the rape of their mother. This is such a Trump’y move. I’d like to hear more from Jessica Krug. Somehow she was able to hide her true origin story and get around background checks. Something isn’t adding up and that’s why I’m inclined to think that something more nefarious is happening. Her case hits all the conservative talking points about race, identity, academia, etc. This case is almost custom made to dominate conservative news cycle for a month; it’s an intersection of every conservative grievance, It all seems too convenient.

She's 38. She's been doing this for over a decade. You are suggesting she is a deep-cover plant in academia? I suggest you try Occam's razor.

This isn't drastically different from another professor at GW who recently died: H.G. Carillo's presentation as Cuban was just as full of lies and he profited from it as well and like Krug, Warren et al, hoovered up opportunities meant for others.

I'm another BIPOC PP, in academia. This is the same picture I've been hearing.

An Latin Jewish professor in the Latin Studies department at GW described a professor who was making quite the stink about the department always teaching the canon. I wonder if this was her?

Taking on the persona of a POC isn’t exactly the surest way to success in any field. Something pathological is going on.

She adopted a persona and had some success as an academic. What really bothers me is that she also took grants meant to diversify the field. She must know this was wrong no matter how “connected” in your head you feel to your made up persona.

I really think she is mentally ill, and constantly having to double down on what she knew is a lie only exacerbated her condition. She probably should get help but I hope she is done in academia. If she was not insane, she truly is despicable.
