| My son is 12 and 6'. Taller than me at age 11. Dr thinks he's almost done growing (maybe 3-4 more inches). |
Good/bad is a weird take. It is what it is. No one has control over it, children grow based on their genetics. |
| 5’4” DS passed my height ~ 12 - he is 6’4” in HS. DH is 6’3”. Incidentally, DDs passed my height at 11. |
| DCUM is amazing! It defies the laws of statistics! Every child is in the 100+ percentile, every 45 year old women looks 29, and everyone has a 2M+ HHI. It's a magical land! |
| My oldest is 14 and just hit my height (5’10). He also just hit puberty. His ped expects him to be 6’2-3. Younger son is projected to be 6’3-4. But I come from a family of Amazons - my brother is 6’3 and I have several cousins who are 6’7. |
| I’m 5-8” and my 14 year old is 6-2”, surpassed me maybe in 7th grade. My 11 year old is 5’-5” so likely 7th grade too. |
Da hell |
It’s called self reporting bias boo. People only post on topics they are at or near top |
| Yeah, looking around my son’s large middle school I don’t believe any of these posters for one second, lol. |
Same I don’t see any Sasquatch |
+1 Not many 6 footers in MS or even freshman year of high school. LOL. HS upperclassmen- a larger handful reach that height, sure. But still a small minority. |
| Fake news |
Really? My son is almost 14 in 8th grade and there are lots of boys taller than he is at 5’9”. |
| I was just at a basketball game between two large fcps middle schools and out of four boys teams, there was one 6 foot tall kid. |
Exactly. There are some out there- sure. And more of them concentrated on certain sports teams (basketball, high level travel teams in various sports). But they are outliers at this age- people just take more notice of them I think. |
