I can pass a background check. I just thought it was be easier and quicker to buy one from a person rather than a store. How would i do that?

Better check your state laws there cochise, this could be illegal.

-Normal upper-income NoVa resident who owns more than a dozen firearms.

Why in the world do you need that many guns?

How many pairs of shoes do you own? How many pots? How many pans? How many outfits?

Why do you “need” all of that stuff?

Hoarding guns for an imagined apocalypse is a much different mindset than buying several pairs of running shoes or heels.

So people arnt allowed to collect guns?

Of course they’re allowed. But you can’t normalize this behavior by comparing it to collecting shoes or stamps.

Your premise that collecting guns is "not normal"... is not normal. And also false.

Actually I’m in the majority and you’re in the minority, even among gun owners.

I don’t need them. I want them. Luckily I live in America, where I am allowed to enjoy a legal hobby (long-range shooting).

I am sorry to say that one of COVID’s victims will be gun control in this country. Scared people, reduced police presence, and distancing will make gun control a thing of the past. It was already falling well short of what its pushers wanted, especially in places like VA. I think the ship has now sailed.

Good luck with that comment...

The NRA has nothing to do with what's currently going on in the U.S. Or anywhere else in the world for that matter.

And when the guy with the gun shoots your dog...

Then what?

The under-18s in the DC gang (run by adults) that robbed our neighborhood a few years ago didn’t have guns. Also, so far crime is down not up.

Stop catastrophizing. You might not believe yourself, but it’s unfair to scare everybody else.

It's perfectly fair to be scared.

The "under 18s" don't have guns. Correct! (As far as you know)
But they have numbers.

Good luck with those odds when push comes to shove.

What is "here?" I think you'd be surprised how many of your neighbors, co-workers, etc. own weapons. They just don't talk about it all the time.

“to effectuate”? Ha ha I love it. I suspect this is the first time a gun owner has ever used the verb “to effectuate” with a gun transaction.😳
You just effectuated a wonderful laugh from me!😀

Hurr durr gun owners iz dum dums.

The gun owners I know: Ivy graduates, MDs, PhDs.

Yep, me, too. They enjoy shooting at the range, hunting, or skeet shooting.
All are responsible owners, highly safety conscious, and fine sportsmen.
