Don’t vote for Joe Biden, guys, please!

Joe Biden is neither crazy nor dumb. He’s just old. Too old.

I’m amazed that some of you claim Biden has “broad appeal.” Um... no. No he doesn’t.

What exactly makes you say that? Most people aren't looking for an inspiring Presidential candidate at this point; they're looking for someone who can get elected. Anything to end this nightmare. Biden may not inspire you, but he appears to be acceptable to a much broader spectrum of voters than most other candidates. That's good enough for me - as long as he chooses a younger, more dynamic VP. You can get the best of both worlds - an electable Presidential candidate and an inspiring VP who can take over in four years - as long as you're patient.

Show me the polls that prove any other candidate has broader support than him.

Subject line should have been "Don't vote for Trump!" (remove "guys, please").

To the PP who said Joe is selfish because he is running at his age - get over yourself. He is SELFLESS.

A real monster who is selfish is Bernie. But if I have to, I will vote for that evil old man that just had a heart attack.

Biden's coalition includes low-information old voters for his name recognition and low-information voters who hate Trump and believe the narrative fed by the media that Joe can beat Trump.

I’m not at all here to ask you to vote for my preferred candidate. Sincerely, I’m not. I’m saying please don’t vote for Biden solely because you think he’s “the most electable.”

I’d ask that you vote for the person who excites you. Vote for the person who’s ideas you love. Vote for a person who is more than a placeholder for 4 years. Vote for the person who will most likely live to see the results of their policies. Vote for the person who has an awareness of current ideas, beliefs, trends, culture...or, at the very least, an interest and ability to learn.

I know that you don’t mean it to sound that way, but these comments are incredibly naive and offensive. I appreciate the enthusiasm of youth, but your arguments would be more persuasive if you could convince your fellow millennials to vote in the same numbers as ‘the oldsters’. Believe it or not, we don’t all shrivel up and die once we hit sixty. A lot of us were fighting for your rights before you were even born.

I’m not a millennial; I’m a Gen Xer. (I will not assume you’re a boomer.)

I’m not naive. In fact, I pay attention. What I’m saying may sound offensive, and I totally get that. It’s true, though. Oldsters cannot carry the electorate alone. If you truly like Biden, I get you’re support. My issue is a lot of people are voting for him because they think he appeals to the masses.

He does not.

Why don’t you think that Biden appeals to the masses? Any data to support that? BTW, I don’t agree with you, but I like your spunk.

Not OP. This transcript from one of debates should say enough:
“I’ve typed out a transcript of what Biden actually said, verbatim. There are no typos. I’ve also noted where Biden closes his eyes, probably to concentrate, which he does whenever he seems to be struggling especially hard to string words together. Try to read through it slowly, word-for-word, resisting the instinct to mentally re-frame it into something more coherent:

“Well they have to deal with the– Look, there is institutional segregation in this country. And from the time I got involved I started dealing with that. Redlining. Banks. Making sure that we’re in a position where– Look, talk about education. I propose that what we take is those very poor schools, the Title 1 schools, triple the amount of money we spend from 15 to 45 billion a year. Give every single teacher a raise that equal [closes eyes] raise to getting out– the sixty-thousand dollar level.

“Number two: make sure that we bring into the help the–[closes eyes] the student, the, the teachers deal with the problems that come from home. The problems that come from home. We need–We have one school psychologist for every fifteen hundred kids in America today. It’s crazy. The teachers are reca–Now, I’m married to a teacher. My deceased wife is a teacher. They have every problem coming to them. [Closes eyes briefly] We have make sure that every single child does in fact have three, four, and five year-olds go to school–school, not daycare. School. We bring social workers into homes of parents to help them deal with how to raise their children. It’s not that they don’t wanna help, they don’t want–they don’t know quite what to do. Play the radio, make sure the television, [closes eyes tightly] the– ‘scuse me, make sure you have the record player on at night, the-the-the-the phone, make sure the kids hear words. A kid coming from a very poor school, [closes eyes] a very poor background, will hear four million words fewer spoken by the time they get there.”

Notice how it gets more garbled the longer he speaks. The response I transcribed was about eighty seconds in length. That was just one small part of a debate in which the former vice president performed no better and forgot three of his fellow candidates’ names.“

Absolutely, stutters are the worse. They stop to gather their thoughts ugh. Hurry up already.

That was me (OP). Generally, Joe is a selfless person, yes; however, it was a selfish act to enter the race when we already had 20+ people running. I admit that’s completely my (probably very unpopular) opinion.

Bernie is probably the only person I find less appealing than Joe. He’s just as dangerous as Trump, IMHO.

No one wants to go through this vetting of a new candidate in 4 years! It’s idiotic to think that’s a good idea. It just proves Joe is too old. More so, Joe is certainly out of touch. What gives you any thought he’d even elect a “young, dynamic” VP? Joe is still talking about record players and busing.

Surprise, you can actually VOTE for a young, dynamic candidate now! There are still some running. It’s ridiculous to think Joe Biden will pick a VP like one of the other candidates running against him. Goodness, if that type of VP would be a good pick, that person would be great at the top of the ticket.

What is with this zombie-like thinking, ”Must vote for Joe despite logic and facts...must vote for Joe...”??

The weird thing is how those low-information voters managed to get Trump elected. Do you think that only the elite get to vote?

The campaign says he’ll win? I’m shocked.

Actually, staffers on other campaigns. Go off though ?.

I’ll bite. How would staffers on other campaigns know Joe Biden “will almost certainly be the nominee”?

Also, why do you think they’d tell you that?

I call BS on your claim.

Because they're looking at numbers, staring reality in the face and are already weighing options. Only Bernie could generate enough momentum by winning both NH and Iowa to overcome Biden's near certain win in SC and strength in the South. Biden is strong. Liz is done. Pete is DOA. Amy, please. Yang, no. Bloomberg, nope.

They think to tell because people talk. All the time. It's politics.
