I am looking forward to a period of calm. To a time of recovery from the past 4 years of frenetic lawlessness. To some healing. |
I will not vote for Biden not he primary but will absolutely vote for him if he is the nominee - as you should. |
Why are we all acting like klobachar isn’t a candidate? She’s the best bet. |
The subject line is so obnoxious. There ARE some of us who like him, hello. And many more than me since he’s polling fairly highly. Agree that he’s too darn old, but so is Bernie & Trump, and that doesn’t seem to bother people so... |
OP The only viable “young and fresh” candidate is Buttigieg and I just don’t see that happening. Or do you mean Andrew Yang? |
Could be wrong, but I’m pretty sure that OP is strongly in favor of Buttigieg. I like him, too, but he doesn’t have the recognition or experience of someone like Biden. I have reservations about Biden, but I’ll probably vote for him in the primary since he seems to have the widest appeal nationwide. Biden should be fine as long as he chooses a younger, charismatic VP who could take over. I was hoping that Harris would get more traction, but she didn’t. Abrams was robbed, but she lacks the experience to be President. Buttigieg would be great, but two moderate white guys isn’t going to cut it. There must be some up and coming Obama-like politician that Biden could choose, but I don’t know who that is. |
Excellent point, which I failed to mention in my OP. Joe is a proven loser candidate. I am so scared we’re going to make the same mistake again. |
It bothers me, and many others. As I said in the OP, I’m against all octogenarians—including Warren. The other oldsters aren’t getting tagged with this most electable label—at least not with an real credibility. Joe is, and it’s incredibly wrong. |
I’m not at all here to ask you to vote for my preferred candidate. Sincerely, I’m not. I’m saying please don’t vote for Biden solely because you think he’s “the most electable.” I’d ask that you vote for the person who excites you. Vote for the person who’s ideas you love. Vote for a person who is more than a placeholder for 4 years. Vote for the person who will most likely live to see the results of their policies. Vote for the person who has an awareness of current ideas, beliefs, trends, culture...or, at the very least, an interest and ability to learn. |
This mentality will ensure we lose. |
Having talked to people involved w the campaigns, Joe Biden will almost certainly be the nominee. Only threat is if Bernie wins BOTH Iowa and New Hampshire. Get used to the idea of Biden as your nominee folks. |
At least get the facts right - Warren just turned 70. Believe it or not, not everyone over 65 is a mentally deficient old codger. |
Oh yes, picking someone popular like Biden will ensure we will lose. Got it ![]() Newsflash: dems might lose no matter who gets elected. |
Fair enough; she’s not near 80. At 70, she’s still too old. Not a mentally deficient old codger isn’t the line we draw for POTUS. |
Picking someone because—even though you know he doesn’t excite you—you think he appeals to others is a recipe for picking a dud candidate. |
