Real Estate

I live close to downtown Bethesda and if I could find my unicorn of a house, I would buy instantly! Since MCPS will only ever tweak the boundary fringes, all you need to do is look at the map and keep to the middle of the BCC, WW, WJ triangle. All excellent schools (prefer WJ because of the APEX program). |

The vast majority of my neighbors have an extremely small amount of net worth tied up in MoCo real estate. It is just a house.
Their pensions, 401Ks, stocks, bonds, investment properties, cash in bank, 529 plans, cars in driveway you name it are their real assets. Folks are not like in NoVa Amazon push or DC are not leveraging to buy large amounts of investment properties in MoCo |

Although I think you're mostly dead-on, the northern boundary of BCC is likely to change more than most with Woodward opening nearby and adjacent to BCC. I don't personally believe it will be all that different than BCC or that it's even a bad thing. It will likely involve less busing than BCC does for nearby residents. |
No one knows if Woodward's boundaries will be adjacent to BCC because Woodward doesn't have boundaries yet. |
Clearly the poster has not seen the strip mall parking lots full of Tesla’s and 7 series in McLean, dealt with neighbors discussing their 30k family vacation to Hawaii in Arlington, and Falls Church parents discussing how Stanford is only a little more than UVA in restaurants. I wish NOVA was just tied to real estate so I didn’t have to experience this in NOVA. |
Creative, but other things being equal people like seeing the equity in their homes increase. Sorry about MoCo, but your wounds are self-inflicted. |

When checked few homes on "Zillow" homes in the MoCo,, random homes in random places be it SS, Bethesda,
Rockville, Potomac etc.. and then the same in Arlington The little price graph seemed flattening out or going down in MoCo. Could not find one house that would show a "happy" graph. Whereas in Arlington the line is always going upwards. Either slow and steady or more spikes. Do you see the same pattern when you search for homes? |
| The smartest kids in the county get bussed to Blair for the top STEM magnet. They all seem fine. |
Did you think it through?
|
About two hour bussing? Fine? All? Link!
|
Which kid doesn't dream about two hour buss ride twice a day. Who needs that extra sleep and extra rest and extra time for homework. |
No one has a 2 hour bus ride each way... |
So what is the longest you think? |
The longest bus rides are 83 minutes. http://www.montgomeryschoolsmd.org/departments/transportation/busroutes/04757mbus.pdf |
