I think that's BS, frankly. This person committed a crime against society. We understandably want to know who he is try to make sense of this crime. Try to understand what factors DO lead to this sort of crime. I think we have a right to know his name.

How does knowing his name help you understand? We can learn how he came to commit the crime without it.

And really the HOW DID HIS HAPPEN is simply because guns are RAMPANT in our society, encouraged even.

because we can look at his social media history and see if he was a white nationalist, or see his arrest history - and all sorts of things. don’t you want to know who *does* this? obviously we need better gun laws but understanding who is doing the killing helps us understand what sorts of better gun laws we need. also i just want to know and i don’t appreciate the patronizing take that only some people are able to know the name of the killer when it’s a salient derail

According to his Linkedin profile, he was a truck driver for a living, based out of Midland, TX. The New York Times reported that he had just been fired from his job a few hours before the shooting spree took place.

Um, lip, teeth and tongue damage is pretty significant damage to your face. I get that they are trying to be hopeful and all that, but it is NOT a pretty picture right now. It can be repaired, but she still will probably not be the same.

Lip teeth and tongue is not jaw, cheekbones, eyes and eye sockets, etc. This child is injured but didn’t have her face “blown out.” This child and her family is suffered enough and will go through more suffering and operations. People using her injuries and exaggerating them to prop up their political opinions are despicable. Children with their faces blown out/off aren’t running and playing. You aren’t a doctor and if you are a doctor you arent her doctor so quit using her online to score points with lies.

Seventeen-month-old Anderson Davis was one of the 22 people injured in a shooting spree in West Texas. Despite her injuries, she's expected to make a full recovery, her parents said.

She'll have surgery Monday for her injuries, which include shrapnel in her chest, a hole through her bottom lip and tongue and damage to her front teeth, her mother, Kelby Davis, told CNN on Sunday.

"'Toddlers are funny because they can get shot but still want to run around and play,'" Davis wrote, according to the governor.

Abbott said Davis told him Anderson would have surgery Monday to remove the shrapnel from her chest, fix her lip and mouth and "get a better look at her tongue." The damage to her mouth was "pretty bad," but can be fixed, Abbott said.

On Saturday, a spokesman for University Medical Center in Lubbock told CNN that Anderson was in satisfactory condition after the shooting.
