Police are searching for two active shooters in Odessa, Texas

This won’t stop gun violence but it’s a step in the right direction. When police in mid-sized city Texas are adopting this stance, things have changed.

Odessa police chief Michael Gerke declined to name the shooter. “I refuse to. I am not going to give him any notoriety.”

I think that's BS, frankly. This person committed a crime against society. We understandably want to know who he is try to make sense of this crime. Try to understand what factors DO lead to this sort of crime. I think we have a right to know his name.

The child did not get half her face “blown out.” The mother texted the Gov with an update to her injuries.

Seriously. When you have a few minutes, please look at and listen to the footage of this murderer firing the AR rifle during the massacre. It literally sounds like a war zone.

There is absolutely NO REASON[u] for any citizen to have a gun that can fire bullets so rapidly.

Regardless of where you stand on gun ownership, banning ARs is simply a make sense decision.

How does knowing his name help you understand? We can learn how he came to commit the crime without it.

Um, lip, teeth and tongue damage is pretty significant damage to your face. I get that they are trying to be hopeful and all that, but it is NOT a pretty picture right now. It can be repaired, but she still will probably not be the same.
