Wow. I just watched parts of the 05 VDA vs McLean. Terrible. Criticize FCV all you want, EVERY age group is way ahead of both these teams. |
Not really. The 05 team last year had WAY more talent, but the team never came together. The players that left were the best the team had and it shows in how they play today. The MA ECNL conference and record IS NOT indicative of how good this team is. There is/was no DA at U13 last year so there was no dilution between DA/ECNL. The best teams a club had to offer were ECNL. |
Exactly. I have a daughter in DA, but Ive watched a lot of the ECNL games. People need to be more realistic about the difference between the two. I don’t think any of the local DA’s are that low. Are there players in DA that aren’t ready yet? Yeah, and more so on current spirit and Arlington teams, but facing facts I haven’t seen one DA game that looked like those games described above do. |
And FCV is in a tough division? |
Varies by age group, but yes. |
LOL!!! Ok |
|
First, you have to be a complete moron to to judge a team based on one outing. Was Brazil a horrible team because it looked horrible in a 1-7 loss to Germany in the 2014 WC.
All I am saying is that McLean and FCV are the two strongest elite clubs in the DMV Pipeline in Baltimore is the only club that can challenge them. Even with more options, McLean and FCV will get a serious look from elite players. McLean 05 is a solid team that has come together under a legendary coach. Also, rumor has it that two FCV players who received offers to the DA are instead going to McLean ECNL. This proves my point -- Elite players will chose McLean or FCV depending on interest in HS soccer. |
Heres how tough it is. One of the ECNL's best teams in the division lost to one of the lowest ranked teams in DA in the division. Folks can LOL all they want. Watch the games and if you still think that's good soccer and everything is alright then enjoy the recruiting process. Oh and cross your fingers that Clyde or Nadar doesn't replace your kid at U16-U18. |
One outing? You think people haven't seen them play? You really think that? For those that haven't let me explain one thing. You don't generally lose all sense of tactical understanding game to game at this age/level. I'm not here to even argue league vs league. I'm simply saying that there is a difference and if you want ECNL to be what that fantasy in your head is then be realistic about the kids and get training. And not that academy day these clubs offer on Mondays. Real training folks. Cause one day youll have to play that PDA team. |
Yawn. Past performance is no guarantee of future performance. My DD will do what is convenient and will get her seen — and that would have been FCV or Mclean 3 years ago, but it’s not anymore. |
And it will NOT be Loudoun until there is a complete overhaul of staff there. |
Once again, the exposure is NOT the same. The DA is far superior in exposure for these players. FAR superior. More coaches from stronger schools (both academically and athletically) and the head coaches are the one's attending. It is not even close. Furthermore, it is a regular occurrence to have college coaches at FCV training. TRAINING. Not to mention regular season games. Not happening with any regularity at ECNL games and training and certainly not at Loudoun. Coaches go where the concentration of talent is. Period. |
| White People problems. |
Go wash your hands. Yuck |
Truth hurts? Bottom line is that MU and Arlington have much more potential to become elite destination clubs than any ECNL club purely for the exposure reason the OP posted above. It is ok if you are making a decision to play for a club based on convenience, but that doesn't mean college coaches are coming to watch your team play. |
