LOL. No. No she isn’t. |
Sigh...I wish I can be called a doctor...but in reality I'm a married esquire who is a bachelor. |
Lawyers don't use that term anymore. I am a Juris Doctoris cum laude from Harvard Law but would never, ever use either "Dr." or "Esq." |
|
Well through title she is a doctor
When mail is sent she mjgjt receive mailing addressing her formally as Dr. PHDs are doctors too. |
LOL. Oh honey. |
| It's because a degree in education is considered the least challenging to obtain - even a master's or PHd. Teaching is hard but the degree is a no brainer. |
| Phd's and D.O.'s should never used Dr. in front of their name |
Get out of brief-writing mode, you can use sarcasm in anonymous forums. |
Mostly agree except for two things, noting for OP/others: 1. Professor is a job specific title (like vice president), you have to be employed as faculty at a college or university to be called that. So someone working in industry, government, as a consultant, etc. would not be a professor regardless of degree. 2. Mr. or Ms. are fine, but if you address people with PhDs this way, make 100% sure you're consistent all the time. A lot of women are sensitive to people calling men Dr. so and so and women Ms. or jumping straight to "Lisa", because this does happen a lot. It's one thing to not be called Dr, it's another if your colleague Mike is. |

From now on, I would like all of you to address me as Dr. Goldstein. I have a juris doctor, and am a doctor, so would like to be addressed as such. Being that I have learning disabilities, I am very proud of my accomplishment and want everyone to know.
Thank you for your time, Dr. Lisa Renee Goldstein, JD |
Is this a joke ? |
| I once had a board member who insisted we address her as Doctor, and everything was always "Dr. Larla Smith, DNP, MSN BSN, RN, [six million other credentials]." She was so darn insecure about being a nurse and not a medical doctor. Actually, she was just flat out insecure. |
