Just back off the stupid "every kid" argument. The school was both unwilling, unable and apparently untrained to deal with something they are required to do. |
It is arguable that calling the police and traumatizing a child for....not leaving the playground was abusive. |

I agree, you could well make that argument. But hopefully, had the school realized they were being abusive, they would have not done it. Doing it and then calling CPS on themselves doesn't seem like the logical action. |
If every kid did that, they'd probably figure out something that didn't require calling 500 parents to come pick their kid up. |
Because the child should be at school and the school should set up a plan to handle the child's needs. It's not appropriate for the school to ask a child to leave during the school day (unless they are sick). |
This. I have seen a situation where the principal, vice principal and the teacher went out to try to get a kindergartener off the playground, while an aide stayed with the class. This school sounds like it handled this situation terribly. |
