Christ Brinkley looks crazy now

I’m just shocked that Billy Joel, with his looks, cheated on her.

Anyway, cut her some slack. She is in a no-win situation considered how gorgeous she was in the 80s.

She looked amazing in Parks and Recreation and should have stopped whatever she was doing right there.

Also these procedures seem to lose their efficacy all at once and become too much. I remember DCUM posts talking about how great she looked and how she had done just the right amount of work.

She looks like a seventy plus year old trying to look younger and it is not working. Lauren Bacall understood elegance and aging. Christie looks like a complete idiot in her micro shorts. No one wants granny to show up at family dinner dressed like that, no one.

Not sure why she's insisting on fillers now at her twilight years when she would look just as stunning, and perhaps even more so, if she would just allow herself to continue to command beauty while aging gracefully and - ahem - naturally, as she seems to otherwise embrace nature on all other fronts. Yep, can't dismiss the "joker" fun house look, I get that.

Helen Miren, Dianne Keaton, Emma Thompson and Meryl Streep are all beautiful examples of older actresses who have aged naturally with minimal work.

They look much more timeless and beautiful than the actresses with taught frozen faces, stretched out cats eyes, fish lips and puffy fillers.

Those natural actresses all have much more staying power as actresses, since they can easily play older roles, and there are so few older looking natural actresses left. Their naturally aged faces are gorgeous and show so much depth.

No one is going to believe senior citizen Christie Brinkley if she is cast as a younger woman, yet she also would not be believable in an older role due to her frozen, stretched out face. It seems like by trying to capture youth in a bottle, these older actresses are plastic surgery-ing themselves out of career viability.

Imagine what movie fans would have missed if Dame Judy Densh and Maggie Smith plastic surgeried themselves into frozen, stretched taught, filler plumped caricatures of a permanently faked 30 year old.

Those actresses have the blessing of never having been known primarily for their looks - they obviously were/are nice to look at, or they wouldn't get roles, but they weren't ever primarily cast as the hottie everyone is lusting after.

I think it might be easier to age when you aren't comparing yourself to a young Christie Brinkley!

What surgery have the actresses you list had? I would like to age "naturally," but with a little surgical help.

I don't think any of them had had surgery.

Maybe a little botox here and there?

They have all aged so gracefully.

You have zero idea whether your first two statements are true. It would not surprise me if some or all of them had plastic surgery, too. It was just a lesser amount of work or better surgeons (even wealthy people like Christie Brinkley can pick bad surgeons who suggest too much work).

I don’t know any of them personally, but I do know some politically known women who are on camera a lot and have had plastic work done and you would never ever guess it (and given that they are known for their brains not their looks, people would say that they are “aging so gracefully”).

He supposedly is an alcoholic who had terrible rages. It's not always about looks. His wives said he is very charming at first but his behavior becomes a problem. The love of her life died in a helicopter crash I believe. Peter also cheated on her. Her man picker is off.

All of those women have definitely had face-lifts. That's actually the key to aging gracefully, you need to go for the scalpel and stay away from the syringe by the time you're 50ish. The PP who speculated botox actually has it twisted, they're not doing that but they will do some bleph work and face lifts. I think Mirren might have actually said as much?

There have been several random sympathetic Christie Brinkley articles recently rehashing their 30 years past divorce saga.

Billy Joel had surgery a few months back and does not appear to be doing well. He was supposed to return to touring a while back, I think March, but has cancelled months of shows to recover. He has concerts on his schedule still for this summer starting in July, but who knows if those will be cancelled too.

It feels like, perhaps, Brinkley's PR folks are trying to get ahead of the flood of positive Billy Joel coverage and biographies, in the event Billy does not recover from surgery.

So not sure if you are aware, but first of all, Christie is not and never has been an actress like, “Helen Mirren, Emma Thompson, Meryl Streep, and Diane Keaton.” She was a model.

You Second, you’re kidding yourself if you think those actresses listed are all natural. Lol.

Billy's new wife is similar in age to his daughter with Brinkley. He met her in a bar on Long Island.

Those two young kids with his newest wife are probably killing him. Can you imagine being in your 70s with toddlers? LOL

Meh, disagree with you that she chose wrong with Billy. They have had this what 50 year close friendship and coparenting relationship? I don’t think she regrets it. They still seem very close. It’s true he wasn’t capable of being marriage material at that time. Sounds like he’s probably worked on his demons at this point.

Agree with you that Peter was a bad choice. That affair with the teen girl… Oof….so gross.

I wanna read her tome!

Love Christy. She always looked amazing to me. In a way, I think she was "cursed" with those looks, which makes it so that only certain guys (i.e. those who care about looks or want eye candy) want to be with her and normal joe shmo dudes will be too intimated to ask her out.

I think that's exactly what her role on Parks & Rec was playing off. I loved it.
