And none of that changes the fact that there is currently no law that requires any person to release their taxes. |
You deplorables will stomach anything just so you can reshape America into a fascist, regressive place safe for white Christians. |
If Trump was doing something wrong on his tax returns, the IRS would deal with him.
Adults who pay and file taxes know this is a fact. Democrats who can’t beat Trump only push conspiracy theory after conspiracy theory to deflect and divide. It’s a non-issue and a waste of time. Keep it up. It’s a losing strategy. Also shows level of desperation Dems have- and are stuck with. Bernie will win the dem nomination and won’t release his taxes either. Checkmate. |
Again, I believe laws apply to everyone, you can’t pick and choose. He has broken no law in regards to releasing them. It’s that simple. Are you ok if I don’t have to obey laws but you do? |
And if the IRS found Trump’s returns broke tax laws- they’d definitely not hold back. |
I’m to the point I think the editors here make fake posts in order to spark debate. No real person who can read and write can be this thick. |
Wrong. Read this propublica article from a few days ago about why the IRS doesn’t take on the ultra rich anymore. Now imagine those difficulties times 1000 taking on the President of the United States. www.alternet.org/2019/04/the-irs-tried-to-go-after-the-ultra-rich-with-audits-from-hell-until-congress-stepped-in-to-protect-the-wealthy/amp/ |
So Congress is protecting the wealthy? Trump isn’t in Congress. |
“editors?” |
26 U.S. Code § 6103 The IRS SHALL release the President's taxes upon request. |
You can quote that all you want but do you understand it? That requires the IRS to release them, not the individual. Again, there is currently no law that requires any person to release their taxes. You do realize when they release them, it’s a felony for anyone to discuss them right? The Chairman can not say anything to anyone about them. |
Well, crap. That blows a hole in Trump's lawyer's argument that releasing them would be politically damaging for Trump. No reason for the IRS not to release them, then. |
So why is the Trump administration saying they will not comply with the law? |
Someone should tell Mulvaney that “never” is a long time.

And of course the Treasury Department consulted the White House about this even though it’s against the law to do so.
