If God had an issue with homosexuality, where is divine intervention?

Damn, that means alot of straight folks are going to hell...especially alot of so-called Christians. Funny how that works.

Being sinless is not what leads to Christian heaven. The only sinless person was Jesus.

It is amazing how many people just have no idea what Christianity is on the most basic level.

Yep. Christians have a free pass to sin because “we’re all sinners” and as long as you repent, you get a “get out of Hell free” card.

You fundamentally misunderstand the concept of hell.

But you just described the essence of Christianity! We pick and choose what to keep from the OT and ignore what we feel like leaving out.

Have you actually read the entire Bible? At least the New Testament? Again, this is explained pretty well in the New Testament, so you also have missed some really, really basic Christian theology. Once you start dismissing the New Testament too, you might as well throw the whole thing out. That’s all I’m saying.
. Yes. I went to catholic school k thru 12 and my kid goes to catholic. She’s learned about Moses, Jacob, Solomon et al. And Jesus. But we ignore Leviticus. Explain.

If you had religion in high school, you should realize that there are a lot of other books, including gospels, that were excluded from the official final version the various editions of the Bible currently in print. People, human beings, made choices about what to include and exclude.

You, also, have missed the entire point of Christianity. Congratulations!

And Congratulations to you for being the arbiter of who know what about Christianity.

The books chosen for the Bible were not some random choice, but the result of a consensus in the early church. Either way, they are an authoritative source. There are many early writings by these early Christians that shed light on many issues, and along with the Bible, many Christians consider these to be authoritative sources. Again, basic stuff. You can either choose to accept the Bible, or not accept it and go with your own thing. But your own thing is not Christianity, it’s your personal spirituality, which is fine. But don’t act like the Bible is somehow not relevant to Christian belief because you don’t like something in it or that you can’t even be bothered to understand basic concepts in it.

There are basic concepts in the Bible and Christianity, and yes, someone who has read the Bible (not many people on this thread or others) can say, sorry, you missed the entire point, that is not in the Bible. Nowhere in the Bible does it say you have a free pass to sin. That’s just something pp made up, based on ignorance.

How frustrating it must be for pp be to stuck on threads like where so many people are so obviously inferior in terms of biblical knowledge which is so important -- at least to pp.

Many Christians is not the same as all Christians.

Someone is a Christian if they believe that Jesus is the son of God, or the "way, the truth and the light". Belief in Jesus is what makes someone a Christian. Two people can have enormously different opinions about other questions, including which books are the inspired word of God (e.g. all of the Bible, the Gospels, the Book of Tobit, the book of Mormon), but if they both believe that Jesus was the son of God, then they are both Christian. Someone who believes in a more conservative form of Christianity isn't "more Christian". There is no "more" or "less".

LOL considering the Bible authoritative (if not always literal) is definitely not “conservative.” Especially the New Testament! And most Christians do not consider Mormons Christians.

Most people in the world , including many Christians, don's use the bible as their guide to life and don't care what the Bible has to say on any issue. Those who do depend on the Bible love to use it to show their superiority.

Cool I don’t care I’m talking about the one statement. So I’ll take it you accept that the idea that Christians have a free pass to sin is ignorant and false.

God is not going to intervene every time someone committing a sin. God warns you about certain behaviors, so you know if you make that choice, you are going to struggle. And then it is up to you to choose if you want to lie, to commit adultery, etc. God is not going to stop every single murder. Once the person made a choice to kill, god is not going to intervene. But the person has to live for the rest of his life with that choice, and will answer for it one day.

Why did God create Satan if he knew what Satan was going to do? This is the $60K question, imo. It all stems from this one question.

There is actually some debate about whether there is a “Satan,” that is, a being of pure evil that exists to torment humans and bring their downfall. There are some Bible verses, like in the book of Job, where it seems that Satan is there more to test people than be actively evil.

There are NT bible passages about casting out demons, as in evil spirits, as in the followers of Satan. Even Jesus casted out demons.

Regardless, the question remains.. "why did God create Satan if he knew that Satan was going to fall"? If this question can be answered, I think so too will a multitude of other questions.

Why did God create people with hot tempers, greed, lust, etc... ?

My understanding is that anything God created with consciousness had to have free will- i.e. the ability to make choices, else they would be robots.

Could a conflict free universe have been created? Perhaps. It's not really something I worry about.

I don't worry about it either. I'm just trying to address the thread.

Why did God create people to be gay if He has an issue with it? Why did God create some people to have hot tempers, be greedy and selfish... etc. Yes, we are all born with innate sinful desires, and we have freewill to succumb to it.

And hopefully the person who was murdered was sin free at the time, otherwise they will go to hell. Nothing God can do about that.

Just because God created the heaven and the earth and sent his only son to die for our sins, doesn't mean he can - or even wants to - change the effects humans can have on each other. We all have to answer for our sins one day.

LOL what an ignorant, nonsense response. Please go read a Wikipedia article about Christianity or something because you have no idea what is going on.
