That assumes both ownership and keeping the vehicle through it's service life. If, however, one is both leasing it and replacing it well before the end of it's service life it's an ostentatious extravagence and profligate. Everyone here was (rightfully) up in arms when the DC council member did this. It shouldn't make a difference which political party this guy belongs to (but for some people and some reason it does). This sort of behavior is disgusting (is the type of thing that happens in kleptocracies) and reveals a lack of concern for the public part of service. |
| Pruitt flies first class but wants to get a used hotel mattress to sleep on at home. Eeeeeeeeeeeew. |
+1 |
| I can’t get over the used hotel mattress. Disgusting! Getting a mattress out of a dumpster would only be marginally worse. I’d rather sleep on the floor. This guy is messed up. For this and other reasons. |
Seriously. What is his deal??? Other than being a weirdo grifter. |
| He sounds like a pathological cheapskate. Probably a neuroses. |
| He spends $1500 on pens but then looks for a used mattress? WTF. |
| I can't help wondering if the mattress was used in a pee party. |
He has money problems. And he's a grifter. Bad combination. |
In any normal administration, he would have been fired by now for incompetence/corruption/misuse of public resources. But in the Trump cabinet, he's just an average grifter.

The $1500 is taxpayer money, he would presumably be buying the used hotel mattress with his own money “In grift we trust” must be the admin’s motto |
