Nope - real person here who bought one last week after seeing this thread resurrected. I have zero skills to do my own hair. The only time it ever looks good is from the salon. I have neither the time or budget for frequent blow outs and this thing is a game changer for me. I’d be a bit worried that it could dry my hair out if I used it everyday, but for days where I want a little polish, this thing is amazing!

1. It took 1.25 hours to dry my hair.
2. My hair was not straight but very flipped at the ends, Mad Men style.
3. There were little bits of fried hair all over my floor at the end.

I have coarse, curly hair normally. I would try it again but it isn't going to change my life (sadly).

You can't use this on very wet hair - took me a few tries to work that out. I use a regular dryer first (any kind, nothing fancy needed), just flip my head upside down and get it about 75% dry - no brushes, no styling, just get most of the water out, especially at the roots. Then switch to the Revlon dryer. I'm not sure how your hair is flipping out like Mad Men unless you're only using the dryer from above - you have to get the brush up under just like a regular round brush. I use my hand on top to help shape it (I like the ends to curl under) but you could just as easily get it dead straight with a similar technique.

Granted I have chin length, fine hair, but I have a lot of it, and the whole process takes me less than seven minutes (using both dryers). When my hair was below my shoulders, it took no more than twice that, and usually less. It took me easily twice as long with the old dryer and round brush combo.

I tried it and it did not work well. Shoulder length thick very curly hair. Brush was too big for some parts of my hair. Was too frizzy. I need to pull tighter to get it to straighten.

Like the PP said, you need to use a regular dryer to get a lot of the water out. Then just section and finish with the Revlon dryer. Look at a video on YouTube.

I have it but once I have the regular dryer out for my roots, it’s easier to just stick with that. Will try air drying then using again. Please share if someone finds a good video. My issues may be a case of operator error.

For me it works best and really well on 80% air-dried hair, and then I only use the cool shot. Of course not everyone has time for this and I only wash my hair every 5 days...Otherwise it fries my hair on the hot and warm setting and leaves it frizzy...

What heat protectant do you use with this thing? I'm afraid it will fry my hair...

I agree that the hot setting is too hot (and I usually dry my hair on hot with my regular hair dryer). It took me a few tries to get the hang of it, but I do agree that it's great.

I'm a huge fan. Best advice ever on the DCUM site. So many of my friends now have them as well because they all asked why my hair looks so great all the time.

I let my hair naturally dry around 75% then spend about 5 min with the dryer. I do all the other stuff- face, get dressed, etc.. and then finish the hair off and it like I had a professional blow dry. Doesn't dry my hair out at all.

I bought the Revlon hair brush dryer last year after getting the recommendation here. Question for all my hair challenged sisters. Well, questions really.

1. Has anyone bit the bullet for the Dyson Air Wrap Styler? Would love to hear thoughts.

2. How about the $40 John Frieda hair brush dryer? Would also like to hear thoughts on that apparatus.

I love mine! Best thing I've ever learned from dcum.

Over the years on this site, I have read hate filled, racist, sexist, homophobic and simply terrible comments. I have read the judgments on working women however that is to find. I feel that I have seen the ugly blackness atthe center of our soals when we are under stress with small children. It has all been worth it just to learn of this simple hair dryer.

what kind of hair do you all have? i have very thick curly hair that frizzes when it's blow dried badly. just did not have success with this. if i dry my hair partially first it is a frizzy mess?

Agree with the others. Let Jeff check if people think it is the same person double posting. I’m another one with thick hair who lets it dry about 80% before using it.
