It's basically just sh*tty chicken/onion pizza. I got a grilled cheese the other day because I was out and starving. $8 for two pieces of flavorless wheat bread and a seemingly thin slice of American cheese. It wasn't toasty, it didn't even appear to have butter on the outside. It was inedible. Never going back. |
Place is such a joke and ripoff. I could make better sandwiches in my car after a 30 second trip to a super market. |
Well then what’s stopping you from creating a multi-million dollar business out of your car? |
I don't get the hate. You don't like it, don't go there. It's like that with any place. The amount of vitriol that people build up against restaurants/stores they don't like always amazes me. Do you just get off on hating? You have choices. No one's holding a gun to your head to patronize a place you don't like. |
Good! We won’t miss you!! |
^^ The issue is they’re so ubiquitous and so many schmucks do love the place, that they’re tough to avoid. Whether it’s my kid’s soccer team wants to go there after a game or on the road and don’t want McDonald’s.
But each and every time I leave Panera I tell myself never again. It’s expensive crap. You can tell Wall Street controls it. Corners cut every which way to squeeze profit and deliver an awful product - like the airline industry. |
Agree with this. These posters sound like crazy people. |
It's amazing. You live in a country where you don't have to go to places that you don't like. How about that? You are welcome to patronize any establishment that you want. Likewise for other people. You seem to have a bigger problem that most of your cohort and your children's cohort likes it and you have problems getting out of going because a group you want to participate in wants to go there. I understand that people have different tastes. Some of you seem not to understand that. I don't like Chipotle's (although I find it much more disgusting than Panera's) but I don't go out of my way to convince other people that it is horrible and that they shouldn't go there. |
Chipotle is also another victim of Wall Street greed (corner cutting) and scaling. It's tasteless now and the stores are run like crap. |
I used to like it on occasion, but they got rid of the tastiest things on the menu like the steak salad and fontina grilled cheese.
I won’t pay those prices anymore for bland “clean” food from a company that plays to irrational fears about things like GMOs. |
Because places like Panera are displacing actual good stores and restaurants. |
I can think of several nice places to go to rather than Panera. You can't just vent angry diatribes on the internet about how much you hate this place or that. That won't help anything. Patronize the good places; keep them in business even if they cost a little bit more. |
cava is much better |
I used to like their BBQ chicken salad but they replaced it and now I hate to go there. The tomato soup is pretty ok but that's it. |
I mostly dislike Panera, as well. But the Green Goddess Cobb salad is to die for. |
