Exactly. The Yorktown and Wakefield units news thare border should expect to be moved into MEGA school.

I think it's time for t shirts and a March at primary election. Any ideas for a name or slogan? NO MEGA SCHOOlS seems like a start but a PR type can probably come up with one better

If this happens I am voting republican next election -- which like many of us is anbig departure.

The SB is going to be in for a big surprise come 2919/2020/2021 when kids show up to register for kindergarten at Patrick Henry. There are tons of kids and babies in my neighborhood and they are not planning to move. They are not brown for those that care. These kids will all need elementary, middle and high school seats and busing! Arlington has a real problem and it's going to come to a head before they are expecting capacity issues.

Alcova Heights, Douglas Park and Barcroft are the same way.

What kind of idiot sues to get their kid into a lottery-based public school?

Seems like if you have that kind of money.....

A woman on AEM earlier this weekend posted that her 2E child who didn't get in via the lottery so she sued because her child wouldn't be able to handle a huge HS. None of our kids really probably handle a massive HS well, so should we all sue?

I read that post. She didn't say she sued, she said she'd have thought about pursuing it if necessary. One of her kids did get in to HB via lottery and her other will go to Arlington Tech next year.

Er, one of her kids magically got a spot in the HB lottery after she threatened APS with a lawsuit (after successfully suing to get the same child into a choice elementary school).

Please see the new thread on the High School capacity meeting tonight at Yorktown 7-9 pm. If we don't speak up, we will be getting a 4,000 seat W-L. People are also saying the W-L PTA is in favor of that plan. I have an issue with a PTA whose members' kids likely will never be at that 4,000 seat school are weighing in. Those of us with elementary and preschool kids need to activate!
