| It's her wedding ring and is meaningful to her. I don't have a problem with her portrait, just that ignoramous she's married to. Now if she would just move into the White House with her son and get on with her duties as First Lady... |

Remember Glamour Shots?

I'm pretty disappointed that we've got a millionaire fashion model for a First Lady and she can't pick nicer clothes. I don't get that weird scarf with the black jacket. Just the jacket would be okay, although I'd prefer something a little "prettier" from a pretty woman. I mean, if we're going to have something like a monarchy, let's rock it with some style, right?
I also wish she looked nicer. Look back at the pictures of Laura Bush, Barbara Bush -- even Nancy Reagan, who was officially the dragon lady. They all look like people that you could at least talk to at a PTA meeting (Laura Bush probably wins that prize, though!). Can anyone imagine going up to Melania and striking up a conversation? She looks like you'd either get a blank "Does Not Computer. Error Code. Error Code." or she would melt you with ice shooting from her eyes. Ivanka at least is playing the game, with the smiling instagram and the pretty dresses. |

Actually it's not her wedding ring. It was an anniversary gift. |
I think she's probably very shy and never gets a word in edgewise with her husband. Hard not to overshadowed by someone like him. Not a fan of DT but think she's very pretty and the pic is fine. |
|
It does not do her justice. She is so beautiful and the portrait makes
her puffy, fat, and flat. Very two dimensional face. The background is also not helping. Too much going on, despite that it is blurred out, Just not working for me. |
| I don't know why we need a portrait of the First Spouse in the first place. Furthermore, Melania doesn't perform many of the duties that former First Ladies performed so I'm really confused why we need her picture, as she's not a true First Lady. |
Do you know that she is an immigrant? Do you realize how hard it is for an immigrant to strike your typical american chit-chat? |
Yes, I know she's an immigrant. A large number of the moms at my kids' school are also immigrants and they are plenty friendly. It's not about her English language skills. It's about the fact that she apparently can't (or chooses not to) smile in a way that makes her looks like a friendly person. Most immigrants know how to smile. She constantly looks like she's putting on mascara with the squint and the slightly open pursed lips. It's a weird choice for a woman in a public role. |
She's not just an immigrant, she's an immigrant who spent her formative years being told to make love to the camera, and she can't shake that. It's an odd portrait but when we have the luxury of looking back on all this, it will sum her up perfectly--airbrushed shell of a human. |
|
I think that she looks fantastic and perfectly appropriate in that photo.
I think that maybe some people are wishing that their own photos could be "airbrushed" to make them look that good... |
| Love her nails. |
| She's beautiful, no doubt. I think the 80s glam look, airbrushing, and mega jewelry perfectly capture the "values" of the Trump presidency. Her slightly vacuous look also seems to be appropriate, no? |
PLEASE COME BACK WE MISS YOU, WE NEED YOU ugh, sorry - that was an involuntary response |
| I just don't understand why known of them smile in photographs. Ivanka does some. The most Trump can manage is a constipated grimace, Melania rarely smiles in posed photographs there are some candid shots of her smiling, and neither Eric or what's his name. |
