Why are men from the midwest the best?

Not necessarily disagreeing but Michigan outside Detroit definitely counts.

My dad is from the Northeast and is like this. He grew up receiving aid and was smart so he was given scholarships. He never forgot his roots. He was always for the underdog and treated the janitor the same as superiors at work. To this day, I can’t step in my office without the security guard, clerks or janitors ask after my dad and tell me a story about how he helped them. He was always modest and didn’t like braggarts. He always told us “when you get to the end zone, you want to act like you’ve been there before”. But, he was from the Silent Generation -1941.

So you're a beneficiary of nepotism? Got it.

Yeah, pretty large difference. Then again, the Midwest has some large urban areas such as Chicago, Detroit, and others.

If you want a man who voted for Trump and is a cop or works construction, it’s a great place to look. If not, yes, you do need to try a bigger city - of which the Midwest has several of, as do other parts of the country. Life is not a Hallmark movie.

The areas outside of Cleveland aren’t so great either. The majority of kids in my husband’s high school don’t go to college. They all smoke and are over 200 pounds...the women too. Everyone is divorced or has a few out of wedlock children.

I come from Indiana, and there are some pretty significant variations even there. In Indianapolis itself, you have the norther suburbs which are pretty affluent, the city core which has a mix of young professionals and urban poor (often minorities), and the southern suburbs which are pretty Confederate. The rural southern part of the state trends more racist than the rural northern part of the state, but the rural parts still have a lot in common. Then you have smallish, formerly industrial cities scattered around with maybe a mix of what you'd see in Indianapolis, but on a smaller scale.

Dullards need not apply. Funny, smart, decent all the live long day. I find myself having to take contracts out on the women who flirt with my funny, smart, not self absorbed but still successful DH. He is still good looking but older so not where he once was. If they knew about his bedroom skills, it would be even harder.

He loves and respects me so it’s not a real worry but humor is almost undefeated in my book.
