Like DC is any better. DC is known for having the most unattractive women.

Maybe but each is about 100 pounds less than the typical Midwestern woman.

My husbands 20th reunion —women were all 200 lbs or above.

Every time we land at Regan airport and ride home, we both immediately notice the stark difference in people’s girth and also the 100s of runners and bikers on the trails.

I love Chicago and the Midwest but when you go to Wrigley Field it is amazing to see the men and women who are seriously obese. They make me feel spin shape.

I disagree. DC is a fat city. Baltimore is even worse. All the moms in my kid's Girl Scout troop are overweight except the Asian moms.

Not moms that live close-in or DC proper. The farther you get into the suburbs, the fatter they get. The moms in my close-in neighborhood belong to about 10 different boutique gyms and go all of the time.

You clearly haven't been to the Giant in McLean or the Harris Teeter in Arlington.

Sexy beyond belief. I don't need some geek in a suit. Give me a guy with dirt under his nails and a humble upbringing all day long.

Yes. Sexy midwestern farm boy. Smelling of grass and fresh cut hay. Hell to the yes

WTF? Maybe this thread should be "why are men from rural areas the best"...I'm from the Midwest and have never stepped foot on a farm.

+1 The idea that the typical Midwestern guy spends his days rolling hay and spreading manure is hilarious.

I went to college in the Midwest, and was surrounded by Midwesterners, and almost none of them grew up on or went on to work on farms. I, on the other hand, grew up on a farm. You know what you smell like when you actually work on a farm? Sweat and sh!t. And most actual farmers were overweight, middle-aged guys wearing trucker hats who used the n-word. People have some ridiculous Harlequin-novel idea of farmers.

I am from midwest farm country, my relatives still own several farms. Growing up I never heard the n-word except in movies. The first time I heard it in real life I was on a bus in DC, and it was said by a black person.

Hah. I'm from the Midwest and recently had my emotionality compared to a "dial tone." I don't get very high when things are good, and I don't get very low when things are bad. I'm steady -- which makes me a pretty good household partner, but if you're looking for emotional expressiveness, I'm not particularly your guy.

Generalizations are unfair at best but here it goes. NYers tend to be loud and aggressive. SF Bay Area guys are too CA centric and self centered, DC guys are well just too many lawyers, lobbyists and political hacks, FL guys are FL guys trying to milk retirees. Midwest guys are not crazily ambitious and sometimes have too much of a Big Ten frat mentality but they are generally very nice.

We too have lived all over the country and I have to say the midwest guys are the nicest. They must have good mothers! I worked in investment banking and the bankers in Chicago were totally different than the ones in NYC. All bankers are ambitious but NY bankers thought they were big swinging you know whats.

married to a midwesterner. He is calm, practical and responsible. Not blinded by DC ambition. But the keeping in shape part? Um no, too many brats and deep dish pizza in his life...

I went to MS and HS north of Chicago and then to college on the East Coast. The midwest guys were much nicer and I eventually married one. He's not the fit football player he once was but he's still in good shape.

We lived in the NY area for a long time and then my DH get transferred to Chicago. Initially he was surprised by the less intense business climate but over time he got use to it and it became a very good influence on his life. He concluded that the people work smarter and not harder because they want a life outside of work.

What do you mean when you say “Michigan doesn’t count by the way?”

LOL OP you clearly did not spend years living in rural Ohio. I am from Midwestern farm country. If you want a man who voted for Trump and is a cop or works construction, it’s a great place to look. If not, yes, you do need to try a bigger city - of which the Midwest has several of, as do other parts of the country. Life is not a Hallmark movie.

My dad is from the Northeast and is like this. He grew up receiving aid and was smart so he was given scholarships. He never forgot his roots. He was always for the underdog and treated the janitor the same as superiors at work. To this day, I can’t step in my office without the security guard, clerks or janitors ask after my dad and tell me a story about how he helped them. He was always modest and didn’t like braggarts. He always told us “when you get to the end zone, you want to act like you’ve been there before”. But, he was from the Silent Generation -1941.

I agree we are the best because of sincerity, honesty, respect. We are not perfect but many of us strive to improve. But, I don't see any women here in the DMV appreciate it--not even the ones from the mid-west. Been single for 3-years since my divorce (from Ex who falsely accused me of domestic violence).

Exactly right as far as urban centers on these areas.
