Eliot Cohen: "Stay away. They’re angry, arrogant, screaming “you LOST!” Will be ugly"

THIS! They could actually kill us all....

Yup. Yet Republicans elected him thinking he would use Republicans and listen to them. A guy they couldn't control during the election, yet they thought he'd listen now? Idiots.

If you were a terrorist group, wouldn't it make sense to launch an attack at the start of the Trumo administration since it will be such a disorganized clusterf$&@?

I would be very worried about living in this region or the NYC region under a Trump administration.

More likely I think we will see Russia make a major aggressive move within 30 days of the Inauguration. They will be testing the Trump administration, seeing if he reacts or just acquiesces.

Trump might be a shitshow, but Eliot Cohen & co. have done serious damage to humanity. His upset might not be a bad thing.

No need for Russia to test Trump--they already OWN him.

He has talked about treating carried interest/cap gains as income, culture wars are over, move away from Cold War thinking, etc. Where these two align, things will get done. Where they don't who knows what will happen. After this election, I would put my money on the Trump side.

This.

So why is John Bolton's name being bandied around?

That was a head fake. Rudy has ruled himself out for the AG position. He will get the SOS position.

It has been in the news all day that the thing Rudy accused Hillary of doing, he himself has done. Rudy charged $200,000 to give speeches to Qatar and a group on the terrorist list. Rudy also did consulting for the governments of Qatar and Venezuela, while also consulting for an Iranian group. Don't think he will make it beyond confirmation hearings.

Can you provide more info on this?

I don't know anything about him, but all I took away from his article proclaiming doom was that he didn't like his friend getting testy with him.

Well, sure, it's fine if Giuliani does it.

Duh, PP. It's literally only a crime if your name is Clinton.

Not the PP, but Cohen is a neocon who has supported all sorts of wars, wanted regime change in Iran, etc. He was a NeverTrumper and led an effort to get a bunch of right wing foreign policy establishment types to sign a letter against him. PP might be saying that if a neocon is upset maybe it's a good thing. Just guessing, though.

My response would be that even though I'm no fan of Cohen and the neocons, this isn't about a policy dispute. This is about basic competency, temperament....all the red flags everyone already raised during the campaign.

Google Frank Gaffney if you want scary, and this is the person who is advising Trump on foreign policy.

After he suggested several people, Cohen said, his friend emailed him back in terms he described as “very weird, very disturbing.” “It was accusations that ‘you guys are trying to insinuate yourselves into the administration…all of YOU LOST.’…it became clear to me that they view jobs as lollipops, things you give out to good boys and girls,” said Cohen, who would not identify his friend.

Sounds about like what I'd expected.

Wait - I thought it was Hillary who had to give out jobs in return for Clinton Foundation donations???
