He has talked about treating carried interest/cap gains as income, culture wars are over, move away from Cold War thinking, etc. Where these two align, things will get done. Where they don't who knows what will happen. After this election, I would put my money on the Trump side.

This.

One of the greatest satisfactions in this election is seeing the thorough defeat of the neocons.

Yep. Drain the swamp

Silly sayings do not foreign policy, military and intelligence experience make. Flynn is a yahoo who can't work well with others.

Trump has halfbaked ideas at best. Who's going to implement them and how?

Agreed. My contact(s) in the intelligence community are telling me that the Agency and DoD are expecting a waive of resignations. With the respectable experienced voices - like Rogers - getting purged, they won't follow the orders of wingnuts.

Yeah I've heard this too. Can't blame them.

When Trump hired the wall st. insider from Goldman Sachs as Treasury secretary, it was "oh, he's hiring people who have experience". When people who have experience in the intelligence community are abandoning Trump you say, "yea, drain the swamp".

What logic.

From the article:

His friend’s email conveyed the feeling that ‘we’re so glad to see the bicoastal elites get theirs,’” added Cohen, who described the response as “unhinged.’’

You see this from the Trumpsters posting here. It's not about governing or whatever else, it's about sticking it to the "elites" they feel have been laughing at them for so long. These people would cut off their own limbs if they thought it would upset liberals - they are all about confrontation, in favor of whatever dems are against no matter how reasonable it might be. Any possible compromise is unacceptable.

The depths of this crazy is just astounding. What a clusterfuck.

They are so insecure and personally unhappy. The White House needs an army of therapists to deal with all the repressed issues being played out by the new Administration. What.The.Ever.Loving.F#ck.

He has been saying he wanted to work on “the outside” for a while. This is nothing new.
I think this is all a bunch of overblown drama.
Any transition is going to suffer bumps in the road. People aren’t going to get what they want.
It is what it is.
What matters to me is who they put in place in the end and how these folks work together and with Congress.

Including the fact that Trump's team was surprised to learn that Obama's staff wouldn't be staying in the White House with them?

Umm... you'd think running for an office would entail knowing what it means. This is beyond "bumps in the road," this is people who are flat out inexperienced and incompetent.

I hope America wakes up and realizes they got sold a bill of goods. I mean, I'd rather have a real mechanic fix my car even if it's going to cost a lot than hand it to the kid down the street who's never even seen a car up close but has some "fresh ideas" about how to make it really go. At the end of the day, I'm the one who has to get it in it and drive.

Yeah, great... stick it to the elites. You know what this is like? It's like watching a kid burn down his parents' house for fun, and then learn that the house was his whole inheritance. Good luck.

All this hatred for "the elites" -- you mean the men and women who do thankless bureaucratic jobs so our country can function? I love the look on Trump's face when he's sitting down next to Obama in the White House. Guy is sh*tting his pants because he never expected America to call his bluff. This is a real job, with real responsibilities. You shoot off on Twitter and the South Korean market is going to crash. We're all trying to work hard and build something, and here's a bunch of people who know how to tear things down.

How terrifying that rumors on an anonymous mommy blog site suggest outcomes that suit our pre-conceived ideas!

ZOMG!! It's Armageddon!!

Agree, and I think it's problematic that people say and read these types of things and convince themselves that these are facts.

You don't know Cohen. He NEVER airs dirty laundry like this. The guy is insanely well connected to the US intelligency community, military apparatus, and Israel lobby. He is sphinx-like.

Just last week he told young civil servants to remain in the administration for the good of the country. He completely reversed course today.

umm you say this like it is a good think.

haven't walt and mearsheimer taught you anything?

trump went further than any R Potus does in a long time and said RvW is on deathwatch.

A sentence after saying gay marriage is settled.

he's unhinged and doesn't know a damn thing he's saying.

trump had bigger balls than every dem in the last 16 years combined on this issue of constant foreign action. even kucinich and bernie didn't go into the vipers den (sc surrounded by R's) and pretty much say to the bushes "blow me"

This is vaguely reminding me of how the Bush administration sent junior inexperienced operatives from the Republican Party to construct democracy in Iraq. We saw how well that worked out.

Expect more stuff like this in the coming weeks. It's amateur hour.

No it's not. But good use of a catchphrase.

Remember when a 29 year-old was placed in charge of setting up the Iraqi central bank and stock market? Yeah, that collapsed pretty quickly. Good times, good times.
