Eliot Cohen: "Stay away. They’re angry, arrogant, screaming “you LOST!” Will be ugly"

This guys is one of the most conservative and hawkish foreign policy experts around. I actually took classes under Cohen and despised his positions. Yet he is telling people to abandon the Trump Train.

WTF is going on inside their transition team

Yes, and former Republican Mike Rogers, an expert in national security, is leaving the transition team too, purged by anti-Christie forces.

Expect more stuff like this in the coming weeks. It's amateur hour.

Even idiotic Ben Carson has jumped off the Trump Train.

The idea that Paulson, Dimon or Bernanke would come within a thousand miles of this slow motion train wreck is amusing. What a farce.

From the article ...

After he suggested several people, Cohen said, his friend emailed him back in terms he described as “very weird, very disturbing.” “It was accusations that ‘you guys are trying to insinuate yourselves into the administration…all of YOU LOST.’…it became clear to me that they view jobs as lollipops, things you give out to good boys and girls,” said Cohen, who would not identify his friend.

Sounds about like what I'd expected.

He has been saying he wanted to work on “the outside” for a while. This is nothing new.
I think this is all a bunch of overblown drama.
Any transition is going to suffer bumps in the road. People aren’t going to get what they want.
It is what it is.
What matters to me is who they put in place in the end and how these folks work together and with Congress.

Agree, and I think it's problematic that people say and read these types of things and convince themselves that these are facts.

Go ahead and try to convince yourself of that.

This level of disarray is pretty unprecedented in a presidential transition team. 2 huge shake-ups in less than a week (with Christie booted last Friday). No one's prepared to receive the hand-off of the nation.

You don't know Cohen. He NEVER airs dirty laundry like this. The guy is insanely well connected to the US intelligency community, military apparatus, and Israel lobby. He is sphinx-like.

Just last week he told young civil servants to remain in the administration for the good of the country. He completely reversed course today.

Surely this is the last gasp of an already-dead Republican Party in the U.S.

They've lost everything, right?

What is scary that with a potential void in the national security apparatus, it leaves more unchecked power in the Oval Office.

Agreed. My contact(s) in the intelligence community are telling me that the Agency and DoD are expecting a waive of resignations. With the respectable experienced voices - like Rogers - getting purged, they won't follow the orders of wingnuts.

You think Bannon was going to keep a black man?
Seriously?

Rudy is removed himself from the AG lineup and is rumored to be gunning for SoS. Where does that leave Newt?

Crazy M****** will act like Crazy M*****
Crazy M***** were willfully blind and voted for him, now they reap the whirlwind
What is ironic and sad is that it will be every last nonsensical, biased, ridiculous horror they accused Obama of being, EXCEPT WORSE!
