Sorry to hear it. He is 63 though. Not an unreasonable age to retire. He will be missed. |
Probably out of rehab, so now they can fire him properly. I hope he got real help this time. |
I may have made a nasty comment about Leon Harris on here and I’m very sorry.
I’m an ACOA. My father died never acknowledging his alcoholism nor ever seeking treatment. Truly hope Leon gets all the help he needs and maintains his sobriety. |
Can we get an explanation why this keeps getting censored? |
Love this post! |

False. |
You know exactly why yours keep getting deleted. Don’t play dumb. |
Leon admits he was drunk on air. That’s why he was pulled off air that day and sent immediately to rehab.

As an ACOA, sounds like he’s still making excuses in this interview. |
Here’s a New York post article. https://nypost.com/2025/05/15/media/ex-nbc-anchor-leon-harris-who-went-viral-for-shaky-news-segment-before-resignation-admits-months-later-he-was-boozed-up/?utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=nypost&sr_share=facebook&utm_source=facebook&fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAR5XmMbr2FVk07v_LvUSTVFF7hb29lgDw2YIfFbyFAP8yxELxz7zmyAMj5CCTw_aem_4L_ieHgEly1nAoyE2rC_WA I hope he gets the recovery he needs. I can also understand what he means. I am now affected by just two drinks whereas when I was younger, I could potentially go all night. Our bodies and tolerance change. |
"he had a couple of glasses of wine with dinner within four hours between shows..."
Nonsense was this two glasses in four hours. |
If you know you can only tolerate 2 drinks, you don't drink the 2 right before work. That's the difference. He's still functioning as an addict even if sober. It's called a dry drunk. |
An update.
https://people.com/nbc4-washington-leon-harris-breaks-silence-disaster-ended-broadcast-career-11735298 Glad he’s getting help. |
Pp again. Sorry, I didn’t see the previous posts when I made mine. |
