An office party on a family holiday? No. Why are you making stuff up?

Being arrested twice for DUI’s doesn’t make him such a great person, IMO. I hope he gets the help he needs.

He was CAUGHT twice, meaning he likely drove drunk hundreds of times.

I have nothing but hate in my heart for drunk drivers. Such needless arrogance and selfishness.

Hate has no place in your heart. You will die early. He was charged and paid his debt to society.

He's still allowed to drive, and he still drinks. So no, he has not paid his "debt" to society." I have zero love for unbelievable recklessness and selfishness.

He didn’t do anything illegal this time. Let’s keep our heads on folks.

Well he didn’t get caught doing anything illegal.

We have no idea how he got to work that day. Given past history, idk that it’s a stretch to assume he drove there.

You can assume all that you want. It's a stretch to comment, "lock him up". That's not how it works around here.

Oh I totally agree. I thought that comment was out of line. But we have no idea if he did anything illegal.

Even if he did, I’m not ready to jump to lock him up

Lots of drunk drivers in this thread who think it's NBD.

I only saw the reddit clip but he was really in bad shape. I can't believe he was even allowed to take the air. Someone had to have noticed before they started airing.

It's really sad - he's been given LOTS of chances. I'm all for giving someone a second chance, but this is like the 3rd or 4th - and at least one of those previous mess ups was a DUI (maybe 2 of them?). That's not ok. And then to go on the air, after your employer has stood by you during all the other mishaps, in that condition? That's just awful.

Those with addiction issues make selfish choices. They put themselves above all else and everyone else that they love. They lie and cheat and justify it in their minds. It's why so many loved ones have to cut addicts out of their lives to preserve their own happiness and peace.

I only see one from 2022. This last time was an issue on air.

Is he simply “on leave” or have he and the station parted ways?

He’s officially leaving now:

“Many of you have kindly asked about me over the past few months. As you know, I took time off to focus on my health and family. After 40+ years of nonstop work and the dramatic changes in the news and television industry, I've made the difficult decision to step away from my role at NBC4. I'm grateful to NBC4 for having me as part of their team for the last eight years. This is the right time to prioritize my health and family. A special thanks to my amazing colleagues, friends, and especially to our viewers who welcomed me into their homes. It’s been an honor. Thank you.“
