That's right. Its sad and a little pathetic. |
Did you then turn on Fox News and brainwash the kids that way? |
Libel, not slander....it was written |
Can you libel an anonymous poster?
|
| When were they the "best"? I grew up in Greenwich CT..we always thought our schools were the "best". |
New poster here. I find people like you disturbing. WE pay for the schools. It is a democracy. People can complain about and hope to do things about certain things they don't like with their school and the school district. Have you ever seen the actual school budget? Have you been to county PTA meetings? School PTA meetings? County board meetings? Have you seen what $$ is wasted on? What things the county takes seriously and what it does not? It is politics. It is like big pharm. You are doing exactly what they want you to do - trying to minimize someone's voice - by being a bully and demeaning the situation into "everyone should just shrug and move on." If someone feels strongly about something, you don't have to say they are pathetic or why make a stink, or why bother. Would you say the same thing to your kids? |
According to Trump, it was in the 1950's when MoCo was all white. |
Parents mostly control the PTAs so are you blaming us as well? |
Hey I grew up there too! But the reason was, the schools were literally #1 ranking in the state (in the 80s anyway). |
Well put, PP. That is what happened with the school projections. We all turned a blind eye and laughed at Bruce Crespell's projections of slow growth/no growth. Look at your school's projections over the past few years. Ever wonder HOW the population growth could slow or decrease, with all the planned development? Well, we were just supposed to trust MoCo. Well, did you know that any forecast that showed the ACTUAL growth we've experienced would have resulted in a building moratorium? God forbid, developers are the biggest contributors to the MoCo politicians. I hope to God someone from a reputalbe media organization is reading this. |

Our school did not show the video at BTSN. I actually thought our BTSN was really nice and informative.
However, I do get frustrated with county's focus on closing the achievement gap to the exclusion of all else. I am generally liberal, and I believe that lower SES kids should have opportunities to achieve. However, I pay high taxes in my district and also expect the school system to consider the needs of my children and those that may not be in the lowest socio economic tier. I feel like MCPS only cares about closing the gap and isn't as interested in helping or making changes for those that don't fit a certain profile. MCPS should consider ALL the children in the district- both those of lower SES status AND those in the Bethesda/Chevy Chase/Potomac areas. |
What an entitled response. |
Let me guess: you're in a Title 1 school. Seriously, what school is this? |
Where was this? |
NP.. the prerecord video was not part of the classroom presentations. It's usually done at the very beginning with the entire staff and all parents. So, I don't know if maybe that PP didn't have an all parents/staff presentation or just missed it. |
