Exactly. Plus HR is largely administrative in nature. |
| That is like asking why the starting five at Gtown basketball are all black.... |
Not really the majority of a race plays a particular sport. The workforce is totally different. |
| Ever been to a state unemployment agency ? The DMV ? Church's Fried Chicken ? |
You are an idiot! |
Why does stating facts make you so defensive? Instead of posting asinine crap, would you care to tell us where poor whites are in the Metro DC area? Do you have an answer? Are you totally ignorant of how black people CAME to live in DC? WTF would want the monopoly on being poor anywhere? You sound like a dumbass. |
|
Why are so many white people in executive positions?
Hmm.... |
|
Why are there so many white lawyers in DC?
Even when DC was majority black most of the top earners here are white. (Still are) 90% of NW DC and in all the new gentrified areas are non people of color. What are you missing mentally that you can't equate the lacking educational system to vocational outcomes? Who do you think is attending the public schools most DC urban mom members avoid? Do those schools have good science and math programs...... Historically HR was that department that minority hires were recruited for so that they could appear diverse. Once in that area it's pretty dead end career wise. |
| My company's HR dept is very diverse but there are zero straight white men. When I was in college a decade ago, the HR majors were mostly white girls looking to get an Mrs. Degree. |
Dude, go get a brain upgrade. You are obsessed trying to make the point that in DC there's only blacks and "white yuppies." Look, this is the latest data, as of 2013, of who lives in the city: - 49% is Black - 36% is White - 10% is Hispanic - 4% is Asian Please share your fascinating evidence showing how 51% of non-blacks are all "white yuppies." Your stupidity blinds you. |

^^I agree with that poster. There may be poor whites in DC but there aren't a lot of them. Especially when you look at areas down south and WV where there are lots of poor white people and huge areas of poor white neighborhoods.
As for HR jobs, there is nothing wrong with working in HR. I have a degree in Math but I worked a short stint in HR and I really loved it. I can only speak for where I worked but I found the job to be a lot of fun and definitely great for those who thrive on people interaction. It's really a job that attracts a lot of women moreso than a particular race. |
Idiotic post - plenty of GS-15 and SES HR folks alongside GS-15 and SES Legal folks in my neighborhood living in reasonable 800-1.2 m houses.... |
Idiotic is the word, indeed |
Good ol' boy network Whites don't want to work for a minority Better connections They think they deserve it because they're white |
What does showing the racial breakdown of DC have to do with the income disparity? What an idiot. |
