Really, truly for the 50+ set: When /why did we need to start ripping out our pubes, too ?!

Note the thread topic. Women over 50. I challenge you to find me 2 or 3 women, anywhere, who are actually over 50 years old and prefer not to have pubic hair anymore after 40 years of having pubic hair.

who just woke up one day and said, "you know what? I DO 'prefer to shave' after all."

Because, that is what we're talking about here. Not the politics of 21 year olds who came of age after porn went online for free in every household and changed the way women < 40 years old think about their own bodies and what's "pretty" and "sexy." We know how you all think. This is question for the women who didn't initially have to accept that societal norm created for them.

I'll be 52 in three months. I shave most of it off and have done so for at least fifteen years, give or take. I always shaved the bikini line and then gradually shaved more...and more.

I really doubt I am the only one even if it is likely I am in the minority.

Same. I shaved off everything about 25 years ago and have continued to do so. I originally did it because I got a piercing. I used to like the way it felt during sex, but it has had other benefits as well. I don't leave pubes in the shower, on the bathroom floor, or between the sheets. When I had periods, it felt less messy and was easier to keep clean. No itching when wearing tights or panty hose.

hate gray hair in my pubes. So they had to come out!

Realized that I liked the look and feel. I am into porn, DH is not!

I saw my first bare snatch on a 35 yo woman when I was in my 50's. Wow, it was the MOST beautiful thing I've ever seen. I was so giddy that I just couldn't stop smiling. I think what made it really special was knowing that she just got waxed for me. Super Hot.

I find bare 1000x better. No hair to get in the way while I lick and suck. It is so much better not pulling hair out of my mouth. It's just so much cleaner.

I turned 50 less than a week ago and leave my bush au naturale - not that hairy anyway. The hilarious thing is that the nurses in the OR commented on it during my emergency c-section when I gave birth at 42 (got pregnant the old fashioned way too and was induced 6 days prior to due date).

My DH does not care! That is all that counts

So the question that comes to my mind is do you get the hair removed from your balls so it doesn't get in her way?

But, that's what pre-pubescent girl children LOOK like-no hair. Women who have gone through puberty have pubic hair. So: logic.

They don't have breasts, 15 years of marriage history and a sweet ass. So: Logic.

I have 23 years of marriage history, the same amount of very small breasts I had at age 12, and my ass is neither here nor there. Your logic is flawed, oh Breastful One.

I didn't experience puberty until 15. I looked nothing like you did at 12 oh breastful one. Perhaps why I am aging better at 40:

NP here. Judging from the comment^^, PP is catty and insecure--hence the brazilian. Ragging on other women's bodies is anti-feminism, so stop acting as though you are somehow 'empowered' by your brazilian.

Chill! It is an anonymous poster who is expressing his view. His vocabulary choice does not invalidate his viewpoint. I am also a "Brazilian lady". Why would that offend anyone who is choosing to keep a full bush is beyond me! I am happily married (coincidence? I think not ) and not looking to date anyone.

So, the question I want to ask is do single ladies who are 50+, feel pressured to get Brazilians because of what the men in their dating pool demand? How old are these men anyways?

50yo DH here with a 50yo DW. A few months ago DW decided to go Brazilian as a surprise and I liked it a lot. I haven't seen any other woman's pubic area since the 1990s (well, live in-person anyway), so it was all a bit new to me. I liked that she was willing to try something new and it certainly made some things a bit easier. It has since grown back to where it was (close trimmed), and that's fine too.

After reading all these posts, I am SO GLAD I am not out in the dating pool!

So by your logic, you also aren't shaving your armpits, right?

Right?
