TVLand has reruns!

Logo too

No cable here and their don't seem to be any free streaming FOL episodes.

I've seen episodes on YouTube in the past

I just read from wiki

Blair was supposed to be the pretty one and she blew up like a balloon.

Joan Rivers was a bitch and a notorious fat-shamer. She also had zero right to criticize anyone's personal appearance. She had over 700 plastic surgery procedures in her lifetime.

The show was on for almost a decade, so the teen girls hit puberty and became women. They were all in their 20s when the show ended. I'm not saying that there wasn't unnecessary snacking and they probably were given a hard time about their weight. (The actress who plays Tootie was short and had a big bust.) Except for Natalie was still a little over weight, these women weren't fat:

At least when they look in the mirror, they see their original faces. So PP, you're the only Miss Piggy here.

Wow... I must have hit a nerve. Still trying to lose your Freshman 50?

No, my dear. I weighed 110 in college and 125 when I graduated. I've had my fill of fat shaming twits like you though.

The word was "preppy" not frumpy. But yes, it's a fine line.

Yes, a very fine line. I'm a product of that era as well and remember the thick, wool sweaters (monogrammed, of course), LLBean duck shoes, turtlenecks, "mom" jeans, etc. Very frumpy/preppy.

Exactly. Even the purses looked like old lady handbags. Did you have a Bermuda purse, PP?

That was so chic.

I had one. But were they called Bermuda purses? I don't remember that term.

This. Back the nthe aspect ratio of TVs was 3:4 (so kind of square) and now we all have widescreen TVs. How to fit a square picture into a widescreen? Stretch it (or cut off the top).

They certainly were not fat. Alarming that people think this. IRL I might smack someone upside the head.

And thanks PP for the PSA about the aspect ratios for the kids who don't know. That may explain why some but not all posters are calling the characters fat.

Exactly. They looked NORMAL.

I hate the way teens are portrayed on TV today--super tall, thin, with designer outfits and hooker heels.

God, I so agree. But I don't think this us just Hollywood portrayal--I see plenty of teens (and older) IRL dressed like this. Gag.

All I know is this show holds a special place in my heart and I enjoy watching it on TV Land.

Pappagallo Bermuda bag. Yes, I had one, and several different covers for it too! (All monogrammed, of course.) So preppy!
