Joan Rivers was a bitch and a notorious fat-shamer.  She also had zero right to criticize anyone's personal appearance.  She had over 700 plastic surgery procedures in her lifetime.

The show was on for almost a decade, so the teen girls hit puberty and became [i]women[/i].  They were all in their 20s when the show ended.  I'm not saying that there wasn't unnecessary snacking and they probably were given a hard time about their weight.  (The actress who plays Tootie was short and had a big bust.)   Except for Natalie was still a little over weight, these women weren't fat:
