I've always assumed that 1) the younger the Duggar, the worse off they will be in the long run and 2) they will be the ones writing the tell all books in the years ahead. I fully expect a Jennifer Dugger-authored book to be at Costco in a decade or so.

Im waiting for at least one of the kids to come out of the closet. Maybe the one who just had his "courtship" broken off? They have 19 kids, statistically it seems like at least one is gay. The only reality show I would wathc would be if Jinger finally breaks free. She seems the most caged by these lunatics and even, gasp, talked about going to college.

works for me.

Meanwhile, "I am so ashamed of the double life that I have been living and am grieved for the hurt, pain and disgrace my sin has caused my wife and family, and most of all Jesus and all those who profess faith in Him. "

Icky that he feels worse about the pain he caused Jesus over the pain he has caused his wife and family.

I assumed both, but it's cleverly worded.

This story, the whole AM leak, the Jared from Subway story......

These are all simply examples of the declining morals of our country. Pretty sad, really.
So much of this type of behavior is accepted compared to the way things used to be.
I suspect it will get worse before it gets better.

Statement from Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar:

Please see the statement below from our son Josh regarding recent media stories about him. When we learned of this late last night our hearts were broken. As we continue to place our trust in God we ask for your prayers for Josh, Anna, our grandchildren and our entire family.

Statement from Josh Duggar:

I have been the biggest hypocrite ever. While espousing faith and family values, I have secretly over the last several years been viewing pornography on the internet and this became a secret addiction and I became unfaithful to my wife.

I am so ashamed of the double life that I have been living and am grieved for the hurt, pain and disgrace my sin has caused my wife and family, and most of all Jesus and all those who profess faith in Him.

I brought hurt and a reproach to my family, close friends and the fans of our show with my actions that happened when I was 14-15 years old, and now I have re-broken their trust.

The last few years, while publicly stating I was fighting against immorality in our country, I was hiding my own personal failings.

As I am learning the hard way, we have the freedom to choose to our actions, but we do not get to choose our consequences. I deeply regret all hurt I have caused so many by being such a bad example.

I humbly ask for your forgiveness. Please pray for my precious wife Anna and our family during this time.

Josh Duggar

The statement at the link doesn't have the part about the porn addiction. Has it been edited out since originally posted?

I posted the apology - copied and pasted directly, with no changes whatsoever, from the Duggar blog. If they removed the part about porn addiction, then it was edited on the blog out after the fact.

Anna's father sure knows how to pick 'em. Her sister is married to an unemployed grifter who housed his family in a pop-up trailer for months before moving them (all gazillion children including a newborn) all to Africa for missionary work.

Re schadenfreude: Yes. It's like Christmas in August!

And seriously, the other daughter is married to a guy that is obviously in the closet.

David Waller? Yes, light in the loafers.

Mr. Keller is an idiot.

Do the Duggars not understand how the internet works? Once you post something, it's there forever. You can't edit it out. There are no take-backs.

Gawker also has the original "apology" http://gawker.com/josh-duggars-apology-i-have-been-the-biggest-hypocrit-1725405629

Oh, this is so awesome. Let's just remove that part, nobody will notice!

Yes. It's so sad. I mean, no one ever had affairs in the past.

Like, Thomas Jefferson would never have slept around on his wife. Definitely not FDR or Eisenhower either. And for sure not JFK. And don't even get me started on how affairs didn't exist in the bible.

Man, nowadays everyone is so immoral. Not at all like the good old days!
