I am a white girl too. 1st in my family to attend college. grandparents came to the US from a backwater town in Italy in the 50s, practically illiterate, dad's parents came as kids. My family still things just going to college equals having been a success. They worked blue collar jobs and still do to build lives from their initial "nest egg" of a few hundred dollars (total!). Besides, it is not news that Italians, just like the Irish and other European immigrants, were not exactly welcome here. But with time they were accepted as whites. Italians were not subject to institutional racism and discrimination like the Chinese (Chinese Exclusion Act) and Japanese. (WWII camps). They were not prohibited from voting, like African-Americans.

I don't think you feel discriminated against today because of your Italian heritage, do you?

Add to the continued systematic discrimination against black people: 3 strikes youre out rule for drug use but now heroin is a disease and marijuana just became cool. Bank of America and other financial institutions charging more interest for their black customers versus their white; redlining neighborhoods so certain people can't move into better communities, revamping the likes of Brooklyn NY and Petworth DC to satisfy a cities need for gentrification, all of a suddent these communities are beautiful and reaching top dollar but when black people lived there-- not a flake of concern nor interest...shall i go on?

If they are just going to get killed on a daily basis, why do suppose black, brown, and yellow people are clamoring to enter and live in this country?

If racism is so horrible in America, why aren't these immigrants staying in their own, racially homogenous countries, instead of risking their lives/fortunes to live here?

It would be a good thing. While it would celebrate the many wonderful contributions made to the world, it would unfortunately have to cover that area that talks about policies, diversion of resources, an unfair justice system, political exclusion, the KKK, and privileged.

As a brown person, I would like to get past race, if the rest of American would stop trying to practicing unfair justice, removing the right to vote, stop profiling me, join me in investing in our schools, and children, and appreciating that it takes time and collective effort to recover from years of discrimination. Interesting how people want to disparage brown people all the time but mention white people and it's a problem. None of us are perfect, none of our communities are perfect, and while you point the finger at others your thumb is pointing back at you because you are part of the problem too. So, fix your community white people. Fix the racists. Call them out. Come up with a collective plan to eradicate racism, bigotry and xenophobia among your people. Fix the school shooters. Do that work.

Lol... Everything in the documentary was invented by white men.. The cameras, the microphones, the digital recording the television to watch it and the electrical systems to run the whole thing.
