Teen Mom OG

Why? Bentley has arguably had the best life with a really strong support system. I feel more sorry for Sophia being raised in that messed up family. She was saying things like "I broke up with Brayden and now I hate him!" What 5/6 year old knows to say stuff like that? And Leah, god bless, I hope she has some good instincts to avoid the predators amber will bring into her life. Does anyone remember the last guy amber dated on teen mom before she went to prison? He was even worse than this guy! Amber said something like "do you mind if I have a kid?" And he was like "no, I love it. I love her." My radar was pinging hard! Bentley doesn't have an awesome dad but he does have one who is present and some pretty amazing grandparents. And Maci is arguably a pretty good mom, even factoring in the revolving door of men. He'll be alright.

I feel bad for him because he seems sad. I haven't watched all the episodes yet (so haven't seen Farrah this season or Amber's boyfriend), so I can't compare (and it's not relative anyway). Bentley's dad is far from present, and calls his mom a dumbass, and is in general a total jerk. He's supposed to be a role model, and he's modeling that a father can't be bothered to care, and is resentful of his little boy. Thankfully he does have seemingly solid grandparents. But that doesn't quite make up for the disappointment the kid feels on a regular basis when it comes to his own dad. Mostly, it just seems like Bentley is sad every time they show him, so it breaks my heart. I can't imagine what it would be like to see that level of sadness in my own son.

The whole adoption thing seems so unnatural. Tyler and Caitlyn have not been able to move on with their lives, most likely never will.
Adoptive parents seem to allow contact for the sake of the show not giving adoption a bad name. And they seem to fear being in negative public light, which would happen if they were to cut off all contact.

The way this adoption was done, its very unnatural. Tyler and Caitlyn didn't receive the proper counseling and support and being on the show and putting everyone in the spotlight is a very poor way of doing it. Its impossible to say if Tyler's behavior is because of Tyler or just storyline. I think its ashame to put these kids out there so publically. The first year, ok, the first two years ok, but to have a child have a meltdown on tv at 5-6, which is appropriate given the situation isn't fair to him. They aren't getting normal childhoods. Its also impossible to know how much of this is staged, and probably a lot of it is. None of the parents are mature enough to think about the long term consequences about the tv show. The money is great, but ultimately is that what is really best.

What struck as strange was the speed with which the adoption counsellor told Caotlyn that it was a perfect match, and how soon she was at their home to get them to sign an adoption plan. Also at the hospital Caitlyn hardly got to even have a moment with the baby before she was taken away. It seems everybody was popping in to distract her. The agent from the agency and even the adoptive mom Theresa.

While I dont like Farrah I dont get Maci's attitude about not participating if Farrah is on the show. It's not like Real Housewives where they go on vacation/have to interact with each other. Maci should shut up already cause what will she do if that MTV money dries up.

I don;t get it either- I mean don't these people all live in different states? What will they be obligated to do, a sit down interview with a reunion show that MTV can air and use clips for online? I mean really, what- 2 days of work and you would be that upset over it?

Maci is having her second out-of-wedlock child with a new baby daddy and thinks she is morally superior to Farah.

I totally agree with you. Maci comes off as really sweet but she is a piece of work. She dated the hot guy in high school, got herself pregnant by lying about being on birth control (although several of the 16&Pregnant mothers did as well), and brought a child into this world without a stable family life. She's got no reason to take the high moral ground on anyone.

I found it very disturbing how many of the girls on Teen Mom and 16 and Pregnant just WERE NOT USING BIRTH CONTROL AT ALL. Many of them said they "just didn't think it could happen" to them.

Nah, open adoption is pretty common these days which includes visits because it is recommended by psychologists and many adoptees themselves. Very few domestic adoption agencies will take on adoptive parents as clients who request closed adoptions.

So Maci comes back on the show, and Amber gets engaged. That ring looked awful big!

Of course Maci comes back. What else has she got to do?

Or Taylor.

Or Ryan.

The list goes on.
