S/O most douche-y car

I suppose they can be? I dunno.

I'm still driving my 2006 Mini, which I bought second-hand. It's like the opposite of a vanity car for me.

Mini doesn't seem like a douche bag car to me at all. Owners seem pretty mellow. It's the people who are trying to impress others with their expensive cars. The worst is the parents who buy RR's and such for their newly driving 16 year olds. I see that in MoCo and DC (never really go into Virginia).

Also, Range Rover, any oversized SUV.

Next time you're stuck in the snow? I will be too much of a douchebag to stop and help with my Hummer. Enjoy

I have never been stuck in the snow in my entire 40 years of life in the DC area, so I am not anticipating that happening anything soon. Thank God you have that Hummer in case it does happen one day.

I know, right? The docs and nurses i shift back and forth feel just like you do, I'm sure.

Being from New Englad, i appreciate a truck. So does the medical field

Yes! The converse is any econo brand (Kia, Hyundai, old Honda) that's repainted and tricked out with every after market gewgaw available to make it kind of sort of resemble a luxury or racing car.

I often see these and openly guffaw. Is that a Porsche 911 there up ahead with that loud engine and huge whale tail spoiler on the back? Oh, I see...it's really a tricked out '99 Honda Civic...

Btw it's depressing to see all the Range Rover hating. That's my dream car!

+1 I love my Range Rover

In 2014 it was reported that Range Rovers could be opened and started using hand-held equipment readily available from eBay. High levels of theft rendered Range Rovers not insurable.

Low resale value after warranty and reliability issues are common complaints.

So good luck with that!

My RR is insured. No reliability issues. It's leased so I don't care about resale. I love this car and probably will get another in a few years. Why the hate? So far you're the douche

You lease a RR? You're bad with money.

Not if you own your own business. You're bad with assumptions.

Question: why do people lease cars? Then you're never free of car payments. Just curious.

You seem like a hero, Hummer owner. There are definitely not any other trucks, small SUV's and just about any all-wheel drive vehicles that have 12" clearance that could do the same thing. That $100,000 you spent on your car was so altruistic.

There is a guy in our neighborhood who will zoom up behind everyone in his Porsche and tailgate them. It's like he's saying, "Get your stupid minivan off the road so I can pass and do my errands, which are clearly much more important than yours!" I love seeing him fume that he has to actually go the speed limit.

What does anyone else think?

(And yes, I'm PMSing. But at least this way I won't take it out on DH)

As part of the actual horsey set, I don't know anyone who drives an escalade pickup.

My liberal husband spent 100k on his Porsche. I pail less than half of that for my Hummer. That ability to to cross 2 feet of water comes in handy when the roads flood in my area and back home.

My money, my decision. Whats not altruistic? Assuming you can tell others how to spend their own money.

I never got the appeal of Hummers. I drove a Humvee in the service, and while they're good for off road, they're rather punishing to drive.

Because I don't know you I'll tell you that DH's Porsche has nothing to do with a crisis but more a huge payout from a business venture that kept him busy for 15 years. So I'd say well-deserved and way better than an affair.

BMW drivers are always A holes.
