| I miss my Land rover, but that thing was a mechanical fail after the warranty ended. |
So do fish? |
| Honda Pilot. Screams I'm a dork but wish I was cool, athletic and outdoorsy. |
They also do surprisingly poorly in crash tests. |
| Prius = pretentious douche |
I bet this pp's car could be stolen by a 14 year old with a coat hanger
|
Normally I'd +1 this, but I don't know that I agree. Too many times it's been the effin' KIA drivers (yes, KIA) who are either flying by me at 20+ over the speed limit or cutting off everyone to gain an additional 2 car lengths in heavy traffic. It still causes me to do a double-take and ask myself, WTF? |
I'm not excited about driving in a fish. |
Well it can be both. Anyone who can afford a car can afford a KIA. So they're not complaining about cars they can't afford. |
I'm in the medical field in DC, which is where this forum is based, numbnuts. The fact that Montana routinely sees 2 feet of snow on the mountain is moderately interesting, and completely irrelevant. For the past 16 years, to get to my hospital in Bethesda from my home in DC, I have driven my sedan in all weather. All -DC- weather. Exactly nobody in my staff parking garage drives a Hummer. Now back to my lecture notes. |
| My husband was driving his little front wheel drive honda civic coupe several years ago and had to get to work after we got several feet of snow (President's Day Storm, maybe?) Anyway, he came home laughing at all the asshole SUV drivers who had managed to spin out/drive into ditches on the beltway because they think that the rules of winter driving don't apply to them. |
| Mini. Worst car in a crash. The bigger car wins. |
Indeed they are. One turned (right on red, natch) directly in front of DH this evening. In Bethesda. DH had to swerve and slam on his brakes to avoid slamming into said BMW. Try to contain your shock at this totally uncharacteristic BMW driver behavior. |
My parents started leasing cars when they got to their 70's. My father cared for their cars for over 40 years and finally decided he was done. Their Cadillac lease allows my mother (my father is no longer driving now) to drive the car to the dealership, they move her things from her trunk to the trunk of a loaner Caddy, then she drives away. They call her when the car is ready and she drives back, they switch everything and she drives off. All part of the lease program. Plus. every two years, they take it in and trade in for a new car. They always have a nice new car and never have to deal with maintenance. Any issues, the Cadillac road-side assistance takes care of things. My father said that one he hit 70 he was no longer interested in worrying about the maintenance of cars. They are well off and can easily afford the convenience. |
but how does this make a car douchey? Some people feel uncomfortable driving a large vehicle. |
