Ellie got her pay off, but I guess she wants more ... |
You mean the mom wanted more? |
| She sounds cukoo to me. Most chicks I kmiw with eating disorders have all kinds of mental issues. Mom is a weirdo too. |
She was a teen model. Not a good age to be working in a profession based on looks. |
| I feel bad for the dad. |
| I hope that Joe finds a better mother-daughter gold-digging team next time... |
|
I think he took advantage of a weak girl with an unformed personality. That isn't nice, but not a crime.
I think she is bonkers, as is her mom. |

You shouldn't be missing school to do catalogue modeling. If that is the best you can do at that age (real bottom of the barrel in modeling), you won't have a long career or a lucrative one. You will need your high school grades.

Cindy Crawford started out as a catalog model in high school. |
She did end up at Stanford, so I think her grades were probably fine. |
She went to TJ, graduated with over a 4.0, got into Stanford, got a degree even though she had at least two extended absences from college, and is now at a graduate program at U. Va. She clearly has brains and good grades. What she doesn't have yet is any clear sense of self or identity, which is why she is repeatedly manipulated by those around her, including her mother, into being whatever she thinks they want her to be, whether it's a girlfriend, potential trophy wife, or a victim. It's sad, and every helicopter parent who has enough self-awareness to recognize that they sometimes treat their own children as extensions of themselves ought to view this as a wake-up call. |
Did she get into Stanford because she was from TJ, had a good GPA but also because she is white, female and had unusual ECs coming from TJ? |
And what payoff did she get from this fiasco? She wasn't paid off and now her name has been dragged through the mud in a NY times magazine article. Doesn't seem worth it to me. |
She went to Rome with him and shared a bed. It's a bit much to be claiming rape. |
The civil suit will almost certainly end in a settlement. But she is clearly someone who gets off on feeling victimized and attention for that, so she is getting that payoff, too. |
