Wow, people are awfully optimistic about actors and other celebrities coming out as gay. Clooney's previous relationships have been the prototype of bearding relationships-- young starlets who would benefit from the publicity of being seen with him with have a "relationship" for six months or a year. He is known to travel extensively with a pack of male friends, including at his house in Lake Como. There have been rumors of him being gay for years, check google.
There are many leading man in hollywood, including some in their twenties, who have bearding relationships. No romantic lead has successfully come out as gay, Rupert Everett tried too, and it basically ended his career. I think it would be great if Clooney or a younger guy would come out, but I don't think that is happening any time soon. |
Nah. He didn't have anything to set him apart on the big screen. He has done a bunch of TV work. |
Come on, be honest, Rupert Everett did not have a big career prior to his coming out. He probably came out hoping that it would give him a career boost. |
When was the last time Clooney played a romantic lead? Up in the Air, I guess, but that wasn't really a romantic movie per se. |
Also, I read some interview with him where the interviewer asked him about the gay rumors and asked if he would come out if he were, and he said something like "I hope I would be man enough to do that, yeah. I would like to think I would." It seems like an odd answer if he really is gay. |
Don't know whether Clooney is gay, but some gay men are still dating or marrying women who may or may not know their true orientation. It's still happening. Just because you think people are more accepting then they were in the 80s doesn't mean everyone's out of the closet from day 1. E.g.: Ricky Martin only came out in 2010, and rumors were flying many years prior, but his girlfriends were all telling the press what a stud he was. |
older? some are elderly and they are character actors not leading men. |
None of this means Clooney isn't old (or that you two aren't either). All three of you are firmly in the middle-aged category. To younger folks, that means you're old. No biggie. You probably consider twenty-something's kids. It's all relative. |
Ian is a leading man. Whitfield played both leading and character. Garbed plays both leading ( television) and character (movies) actor roles |
Victor Garber played Jesus. I'd hate to call that a character role. |
You know...he was married before. I'm not sure why people are so like amazed when he is afinanced.
|
While I think Clooney has a good reputation as an actor. He is marrying way UP. Which explains the sudden desire for marriage.
The fiancé, Amal Alamuddin, is definitely marrying down in this case. But at least she gets points for taming the elusive bachelor. |
+1. She's incredibly smart and accomplished, not to mention attractive. |
Bwaha, suck on that, Stacey Keibler! |
GC is hot and Amal is beautiful and articulate. I'm surprised he's getting married, just because he seemed so against doing it again. I have no idea whether he's gay or not and I couldn't care less. In addition to finding him hot, I also think he's smart, interesting and super funny. I hope they're happy! |
